The Crash Series

Crash (Crash #1)

Mature YA
Source: Kindle
by
Southpointe High is the last place Lucy wanted to wind up her senior year of school. Right up until she stumbles into Jude Ryder, a guy whose name has become its own verb, and synonymous with trouble. He's got a rap sheet that runs longer than a senior thesis, has had his name sighed, shouted, and cursed by more women than Lucy dares to ask, and lives at the local boys home where disturbed seems to be the status quo for the residents. Lucy had a stable at best, quirky at worst, upbringing. She lives for wearing the satin down on her ballet shoes, has her sights set on Juilliard, and has been careful to keep trouble out of her life. Up until now.

Jude's everything she needs to stay away from if she wants to separate her past from her future. Staying away, she's about to find out, is the only thing she's incapable of.

For Lucy Larson and Jude Ryder, love's about to become the thing that tears them apart.

My Review....

I liked this series and can't wait for the third book. In this book you fall in love with Jude and Lucy.

This book had a Beautiful Disaster type feel to it.  Which is good because I loved that book as I did this one as well.

Poor Jude has had such a tough life and doesn't believe he can find nor deserves love well....until he meets Lucy. There love together could be considered on the unhealthy scale but it is raw, explosive and passionate.

When you find out the connection to their pasts it guts you and you wonder how they can move on from such tragedy but there move seems vulnerable but strong enough to survive even the worst.

Clash (Crash #2)

by
The only easy thing about Jude and Lucy’s relationship is their love for one another. Everything else is hard.

Especially when it comes to reining in Jude’s trigger touch temper and Lucy’s increasing jealousy of Jude’s Spirit Sister on the cheer squad who’s attached herself to him in just about every way a girl could. Feeling the stress of trying to hang on to her quintessential bad boy while becoming the foremost dancer in her class, Lucy knows something’s going to break. She wants both. She needs both. But if she doesn’t make a choice, she risks losing everything.

For Lucy Larson and Jude Ryder, love might be the thing that just isn’t enough

My Review...

This book starts where Crash ended. Normally I like the first book in a series but with this series I have to admit that I liked Clash better. Where Crash was a build up of what Jude and Luce are. Clash is the guts of Jude and Luce.

In this book Luce almost loses her mind in self doubt and insecurity where Jude shines with his over the top extreme love.  Even though his love his all encompassing it still wows you to the extent of how he loves.

One of the best parts is Luce's cat fight with the peak of her unstable emotions.  Even though Luce questions her love, Jude NEVER doubts it. Thanks goodness for Luce's mom for helping her see the light of what real love is and not fairytale love.

Now I can NOT wait for book three. I just hope that my heart will be able to survive this rollarcoaster of Jude and Luce.

What does...
A prostitute,
A corrupt businessman,and
A disfigured young woman

Have in common with a mysterious, old homeless man who carries a green suitcase?

The old man comes into people’s lives because it is important for them to experience the visions that he is somehow able to show them—visions that even he doesn’t understand. But whoever he connects with will go through a transformation that will change the course of their life, for better or worse. The old man has no memory of who he is or even what the suitcase holds. But one day he will find out all about his own secret and dark past…

This story is magical realism, realistic with paranormal elements, a mystery that needs to be solved, and a man and woman who will finally realize that they were meant to come into each other’s lives and remain forever.

RF's Review...

The Man with the green suitcase by Dee Doanes

This book touches on so many aspects and characters of real life.  Bad business men, prositutes, a loving mother missing her daughter, a broken daughter, and a old homeless man.
While at first their stories all seem seperate they weave together perfectly at the end.

My favorite character was Valerie.  I was so upset when Gerald broke up with her after he found out she had been a prositute (because let's be honest, Gerald had a bit of a shaddy past as well!) but so happy when they got back together.  I feel like those two needed each other to become the best version of their new selves!

I also really like how the "old man" never used the visions to try and prosper or get futher ahead. He simply passed on the vision to the person who needed it and then left well enough along.  He was a simple man but he stuck to what he felt was right and did not let himself get bullied around by other people.  He lived his life for himself and that really ingrigued the other people around him to want to learn more about him.

I wasn't crazy about the mother/daughter relationship between Lee & Chantal.  I felt like the relationship needed to be explored a little more to really make it come alive.  I feel like all we knew about Chantal was that she could not accept her disfigured face that she desperatly wanted healed.  That need to be healed drover her to do many things and eventually landed her the job of the keeper of the green suitcase.

Overall, this book was a good, quick read.  3.5/5

My Review...

I friggin' loved this book. Why did I love it! Well for one there was a beautiful broken scottish man who is the hero in the book my achilles heel. And his love for Jocelyn was awe inspiring.

The moment Jocelyn and Braden you feel the chemistry immediately. There connection is very steamy and hot throughout the whole book.  Braden is such a dirty talker and always gets what he wants.

Your heart wept for Jocelyn and all the tragedy one can go through in life. But she has a great support system with friends like Ellie and Rhian.  And with Ellie comes her amazing family.  Even though she has a good support system and is seeing a therapist her demons are too much for her to be able to live in the now and to give her heart. Well....until Braden breaks through.

Oh Braden has his own issues but his love for Jocelyn is amazing. He has many walls to break down to have Jocelyn's heart but he does it and thank goodness because they both deserve to have happiness when they were both dealt with shitty hands.

I just found out that there is going to be a second book to this one. ***Squeee***Super excited.

My Review.....

So this book is another book with a strong, alpha dominating man is the lead with a british accent. (My kryptonite) You felt the connection with Ethan and Brynne right away. There passion oozes out of the pages. Ethan's love is fierce and Brynne has some of her own issues but with Ethan they compliment each other.

Why oh why do they always keep secrets. A secret has never worked for the better. It ALWAYS kicks you in the ass. Argh!!!! Ethan why! and his secret is going to be hard to forgive. Thank goodness there is more books to come so we can see how it all works out for Ethan and Brynne

One of the reasons why I heart Ethan:
He tilted his head and spoke softly.  "I want to be with you so badly right now.  I want to take you home with me, and put you in my bed and have hours and hours with your body wrapped up in mine to do with as I wish. I want to have you there in the morning so when we wake up I can make you come, saying my name. I want to drive you work and pick you up when it's time to leave. I want to go to the shops with you and buy food we can cook for dinner. I want to watch some crap television and have you fall asleep against me on the couch so I can watch you and hear you breathing." *swoon* (Quote from Naked by Raine Miller)

Book Boyfriend Monday - Jack Carter

This weeks Book Boyfriend Monday is  Jack Carter  from The Perfect Game by J. Sterling

So Normally cheaters don't make book boyfriends but there is just something special about Jack that he deserves his week as my Book BF

Some of the reasons why I love Jack
1) He loves whole heartedly
2) He tries to do the right thing to make amends for his not so perfect past and history
3) He is so broken and just needs to be loved

Some of examples of Jack's love:

"Cassie." I eyed her before shaking my head. "I've never even slept with the same girl twice."  "So? That doesn't mean you haven't brought some random girl home before." She sighed.  "I placed my right hand on her knee and caressed her bare skin with my fingers.  "You're the first. And the last," I informed her, my expression serious.

"For starters, your relationship becomes less about the physical aspect, obviously, " she said with a laugh, "and more about the things that truly matter in the long run.  When you can't see each other for months at a time, the building blocks of your relationship either flourish or flounder.  No relationship can survive without trust, honesty, and communication, no matter how close you are." (Advice given to Cassie From gran about long distance relationships with Jack)

I headed down the escalator in the airport and saw Jack standing there holding a sign that read: Anyone seen my Kitten?

"I am so fucking in love with you I can't see straight. I don't love her.  I'll never love her....."

I can't live without your Touch, You'll see that I've provided enough money to pay for at least twenty years or so,

Your Passion is inspiring. I can't live without the way you use it to see the world

Kitten,
Letting go of someone who owns your heart is hard.  Sometimes holding on to that person is even harder. I know I'm not the easiest person to love, but you are.  It's not that I can't live without you; it's that I don't want to. There's a difference. We all make choices in life and I choose you.  My heart belongs to you. And I'm not asking for it back, even if you don't want it anymore. I'm just asking for the chance to have yours again. I promise I'll be more careful with it this time.  Love Always, Jack

My Review...

I love the concept of this series with the books being from 2 point of views. Brilliant! This book is from Emma's POV about her meeting Mr. Honor or teacher.  It is a forbidden love story with BDSM.
Since it is only from Emma's POV you really don't know what is going on with Mr. Honor. But you feel their connection right away.  There are so many twists and turns with their relationship that Teresa Mummert is a genius at keeping you intrigued.

Throughout the book you are biting your nails hoping that they keep their relationship secret until graduation.

Honor Thy Teacher (Honor #2)

My Review...

So this is the same story as Honor Student yet it is from Mr. Honor or Williams POV. It is so great to read this POV because there were so many unanswered questions in Honor Student that this book nicely fills the gaps for us. While it is filling in the gaps it is also blowing open doors into Williams Psyche and his very possessive dominant ways.

The relationship between William and Emma is a strong, juicy, steamy,  with a little dominant and submissive thrown in to the mix. Yowza!

I just love the way this series is set up! I give it 4 juicy thumbs up!

My Review...

So at this point you are totally wrapped up in Emma and William and then Bam! Teresa throws some holy shits into the story so at the end you are left panting with a WTF and in desperate need to find out what happens.  Is William behind all the things with Emma's remaining family or his ex or will William remember Emma and his past. I am biting my nails. When is the next book going to come out. Argh! I need it.
