Long Time Gone (Hell or High Water #2)

by
When a tornado meets a volcano, nothing is safe.

Soldier of fortune Prophet Drews always worked alone—until Tom Boudreaux became his partner. But when Tom walked away three months ago, ostensibly to keep Prophet safe, Prophet learned the true meaning of being alone. Everyone knows that Prophet, a Navy SEAL turned CIA spook turned mercenary, can look after himself. Which means he must’ve driven his lover away.

Even with half a world between them, Prophet can’t get the man out of his head. Maybe that’s why he’s in New Orleans in the middle of a hurricane, protecting Tom’s aunt. But the only looter around is Tom, bursting back into Prophet’s life. It turns out that Prophet’s been stuck in Tom’s head—and heart—too.

Their explosive reunion gets even hotter when Tom is arrested for murder. As they fight to clear his name, they delve deep into his past, finding enemies among everyone they meet. Staying alive in such a dangerous world is hard enough, but they soon discover that fighting to stay together is the most difficult thing they’ve ever done.

My Review...

What better way to steam the pages then having 2 hot beautiful broken men need each other.

After being left with a bit of a cliff hanger in Catch a Ghost we finally get to see what happens after Tom's decision.

For Prophet he doesn't like to need anyone and is scared to let anyone in with the potential of hurting them.

For Tom he believed he made the right choice to protect Prophet from his curse but regrets the decision ever since.

Both try to move forward but can't so Prophet makes an effort to help out Tom when he can't be there but Tom's voodoo shit draws him back to New Orleans and right back to Prophet.

The minute they reunite sparks are flying.

I love Prophet and Tom together. They are strong, sarcastic, broken but also honest.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Be sure to send out invites to the pot meets kettle show you'll be throwing."
They try to deny what is in their heart but in the end they just have to give in because there is no way they can be apart.

For two strong men have to admit that they need each other is a beautiful thing.

S.E. Jakes is a mastermind when it comes to MM loving.

Love Tom and Prophet. Love this series and can't wait for the Dirty Deeds series to begin with Cillian and Mal.

5 Powerful Thumbs Up!
