Torn from You (Tear Asunder #1)

by
Love is like an avalanche. It hits hard, fast and without mercy.

At least it did for me when Sculpt, the lead singer of the rock band Tear Asunder knocked me off my feet. Literally, because he’s also a fighter, illegally of course, and he taught me how to fight. He also taught me how to love and I fell hard for him. I mean the guy could do sweet, when he wasn't doing bossy, and I like sweet.

Then it all shattered.

Kidnapped.
Starved.
Beaten.
I was alone and fighting to survive.
When I heard Sculpt's voice, I thought he was there to save me.

I was wrong.

(It is recommended to read "With You" the novella first, however not necessary).

*Warning: This book contains some disturbing situations, strong language and sexual content. Over 18 years.

This is a love story with some dark elements. Dark contemporary romance. No cliffhanger and next in the Tear Asunder series is Ream's story (the band's lead guitarist).

My Review...

I'm aware there is a a pre-novella but I didn't get the chance to read it. I don't think it is necessary but my hunch is with it you would have a stronger connection with the relationship between Sculpt and Emily.

When I first saw this book I saw the synopsis and quickly assumed Oh ! great another book with a character who is a rock star and a fighter and etc.... which often is just too much for one character but after seeing great GR reviews I thought I have to read this.  I'm so happy that I was wrong with my first assumption instead of being too much it felt so right for Sculpt to have so many facets to him.

This book had everything from suspense, intrigue, mystery, love, and of course spanking.

Emily and Sculpt have a deep connection which is enough for Emily to give Sculpt everything until not 12 hrs later and her world is shattered.  She found her self bound, hungry and beaten with no hope until she hears Sculpt's voice. She immediately thinks he is going to be her savior but she quickly realizes that this is not her reality.

This book had me guessing to what is real and what's not. I was on pins and needs the whole time.

After 2 weeks of hell Emily gets out and fights to become whole again to only be shattered with the reappearance of Sculpt which quickly shatters her unstable world.

Emily is trying to move on from her love of Sculpt and her conflict in emotions but when Sculpt wants something he fights to win.

Great story! Can't wait to read Ream's story next. I think this series is going to be great and that Nashoda is one author to look for in the future.

4 Oh! My Thumbs up!
