The Will (Magdalene #1)

by
Early in her life, Josephine Malone learned the hard way that there was only one person she could love and trust: her grandmother, Lydia Malone. Out of necessity, unconsciously and very successfully, Josephine donned a disguise to keep all others at bay. She led a globetrotting lifestyle on the fringes of the fashion and music elite, but she kept herself distant.

While Josephine was trotting the globe, retired boxer Jake Spear was living in the same small town as Lydia. There was nothing disguised about Jake. Including the fact he made a habit of making very bad decisions about who to give his love.

But for Josephine and Jake, there was one person who adored them. One person who knew how to lead them to happiness. And one person who was intent on doing it.

Even if she had to do it as her final wish on this earth.

My Review...

You know what the common sure to a reading funk is? ... Kristen Ashley, is what it is.

I was in such a funk and I was desperate for a good read.  I picked this up hoping that this would work but I was scared that I had put too much expectations into it.  This book was like old school KA and I couldn't be happier about it.

At first the heroine I wasn't so sure I was going to love her with her prim and proper ways but in the end I loved it and felt that was one of the most endearing parts of Josie.

Jake be still my beating heart. I don't even know what I loved most about him.  He was KA's typical Alpha with a huge heart.  He was a man who has lived his life. He's loved and lost.. He's a beautiful family man. He's loyal.  He's sexy and all things manly.  And when he loves, he loves large.

Josie has had a tough life but she creates a facade or shield so that she can survive in her contentment of life.  After the loss of her one big love, her grandmother she finds out that she has been given to Jake.   Say What?

Josie can't figure out why her Grandma would do that, but the more she gets to know Jake and his family she starts to realize why, because Jake and his family is what can give Josie the happiness she truly deserves.

I know some people bitch that with KA you get the same formula with her books but that is what I love about her writing. I'm never disappointed and I always know that I'm going to get: an amazing alpha man and a kick ass heroine.  Often a lot of authors write a weak female and a strong male. I wish more would write super strong females.  Lately, that is why I tend to like the mm genre more these days, because usually they are both super strong characters as its hard to write a weak male but with KA she always writes strong kick ass females and über strong males and I LOVE IT.

The Will is a beautiful story with everything I love in a romance novel.

5 KA Loving Thumbs up!
