Claimed (Outlaws #1)

by

The bestselling author of the Killer Instincts novels “knows how to write scorching sexual tension” (USA Today). Now she really sets it on fire in a new series about men and women living on the edge of violence, sex, and life and death.

After a devastating war decimated most of the world, Hudson Lane has only known the oppressive life under her own father’s tyranny. She finally escapes, branding herself an outlaw and hunted by the Enforcers. Her best chance at survival is Connor Mackenzie, an aggressively sensual fugitive who opens her eyes to the wicked possibilities of a world without rules.

As the leader of a band of outlaw fighters, Connor can’t resist the beautiful stranger who asks for his protection. Despite his reservations, he agrees to introduce her to a whole new way of life. But when Connor discovers Hudson’s connection to the enemies of liberty, he wonders how far he can trust the woman who has abandoned all inhibitions to challenge every forbidden desire.

My Claimed Review . . .

It has been quite awhile since I read an Elle Kennedy book, and I could just slap myself for the stupidity in that decision.   This was great.  I have to be in the right mood normally to read dystopian type books, but for this book, it didn't matter where this book was set as it was sizzling and captivating from the start.

Connor Mackenzie is the man to know within the outlaws.  So when, Hudson Lane stumbles across the rough, hunky man she knows immediately if any man can help her it would be him.

The last thing Connor wants to do is help anymore people out, but his fellow outlaws guilt him in to helping out Hudson.  Even though Connor knows that she's not telling him the truth.   Thankfully Hudson has assets that help her within the group.  Even though for Connor he tries to fight his attraction to some of her assets.

Lately the heroines have let me wanting, but Hudson was strong, beautiful and kick ass.

But she wasn't ready to tell him yet.

Yes, she had her moments with holding the truth for so long, but her reasons for doing so as well as the rest of the outlaws having her back made it okay in the end.

Now lets talk about Connor.  Oh! Poor Connor so many inner demons.  His past is consuming him with blind vengeance.  He's fierce, strong and loyal.  He may not want to be a leader but it's his natural qualities that shine through that people can't help but listen and follow him.

It's has been quite awhile that my kindle almost burnt with the steam coming from a book.  Because I read so much, I'm unfortunately now a bit desensitized to the sex scenes. So, when a book can blow me away in this capacity, than it was smoking.  In Claimed it was hot & sizzling,  Hudson and Connor's chemistry was explosive .  I gotta say,  Elle Kennedy knows how to write erotica.  Hot damn.

As Hudson works her way into Connor's bed, she also works her way into his heart and the heart of the others.

"But you know what?  I can't even look at you right now. You better get your head on straight, Connor, because we're going to bring that woman back whether you like it or not.  Because she's one of us.  So you can either be here when we get back, or you can be gone."

I thought this book was great.  It had great passion combined with suspense, mystery and drama.  There is so much potential for this new series to be amazing.  I can't wait to read more from this series and from Elle Kennedy.

 4.5 Sizzling Thumbs up!
