STRUCK FROM THE RECORD

By K.A Linde
Release Date: June 7, 2016

Clay Maxwell is a smart, quick witted, sex-driven, manwhore with the good looks to match. Plenty of women have shared his bed, but only one has ever been constant, Andrea.
Their rules were simple. When they’re together, it’s just the two of them. When they’re apart, anything is fair game. And it worked. For ten years.
But one of them has changed the game…
Clay must decide if his player ways are worth losing the one girl who has always been there.

“Yet another awesome read from K.A. Linde! Clay is HOT and BAD in the best way possible, you won’t be able to put it down! I literally was begging for more!” -A.L. Jackson, NYT Bestselling Author

Part of a series but could be read as a standalone

My Struck from the Record Review . . .

This is book is technically part of a series but could be read as a standalone but to really get the full picture of Clay its recommended to read the series as a whole.   In the first three books from the Record series I had a real love/hate relationship with Clay.  There was times where you saw the true him shine and you couldn't help but love him but when his protective shell came up, you also couldn't help but hate him.  Because lets me honest Clay is an ASS.  But a loveable one.

Even in the first three books you could tell that Andrea and Clay had quite the different relationship and you weren't completely sure where their hearts laid.  In Struck from the Record we get to see behind the mask and find out what is the truth behind their unconventional relationship.

What Clay and Andrea have had for the last decade is an open relationship, which worked for them because both feared commitment for different reasons, but both also loved the companionship of one another.  They had a love for each other but they also like to play the field.   This worked for them until it didn't.  All of a sudden more emotions got involved causing the relationship to shift.  But you know men and they aren't always on board with the emotional stuff that comes with relationships and it tends to bring out their asshole genes.

Don't get me wrong Andrea was no innocent in this relationship and she made just as many mistakes as Clay did.  For these two, they both had tons of baggage but together they brought out the best in each other.  They just didn't see it until they didn't have it any more.

"No, you didn't have to. You already had before we broke up.  Come off of your high horse, Andrea.  Our relationship spun out of control partly because of your actions.  You left me that night, breaking the rules."

I did quite like this book and I liked to see the growth of both of the characters even when at times I got frustrated with their poor decision making but through these bad decisions is where they had the most growth.  Normally political romances aren't my thing but there is just something that I adore about this series and was so happy to see Clay change and get his own slice of happiness.

The story kept me engaged from beginning to end and both main characters had good and bad qualities to them but not enough to alter my view on them.  The thing I loved most about Clay was my love/hate feelings for him, but once he figured his shit out he turned a bit too mushy for me.  I think I would have liked the ending a bit more if he still made the same decisions but still had his edge too him.  However, it was also great to see more of Brady and Liz and the rest of the Maxwells.  And thankfully we will get to see more from the Maxwell's with Savannah's story and hopefully we will get Chris's as well.

3.5 Love/Hate Thumbs up!
