Her face was stunning. Wide smile. White teeth and a good deal of them. Big eyes. Elegant nose. Soft cheekbones. All of this she highlighted with the expert use of makeup from what was clearly a gift of superior genes into something that shone like a Hollywood starlet.
A starlet of a stripper who looked a good deal like Dolly Parton, who also likely got home the night before, earliest, three in the morning, and was right then, only hours later, back on the stage helping another girl by teaching her some moves.
“Marcus, brother,” Smithie’s voice came at him. “You got a problem with the way I do business, and I give you reason to have that problem, then we have a talk. I don’t give you that reason, we don’t have conversations like this one. That’s our deal.”
Marcus listened to him while he watched Daisy talking to the other girl and then she ran across the stage, doing it gracefully in platform sandals, her stone-washed jeans tight on her ass and hips and all the way down her legs. Still, after she ran the four steps, she launched herself high, grabbing on to the pole at least three feet higher than she was, her body swinging around by just her hands.
When the swing ended, she climbed up the pole, hand over hand. Doing this quickly, taking herself up another four feet, she flipped her bottom half over, wrapping her skinny legs around the pole. She dropped back, her hair flowing down, and with her only hold on the pole being her legs, she arched her back and slid down slowly, somehow circling the pole as she did it.
She ended this doing a layout with her hands on the floor, her legs in slow and controlled movements coming over her head one after the other. Her hands pushing off, she was up.
Standing straight with perfect posture.

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorize and she hadn't taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen's Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.
Nothing's changed.
Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she's blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).
Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.
And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.

My Rock Chick Reawakening Review . . .
I fell for Daisy and Marcus throughout the Rock Chick Series. So, when I heard this book was coming out, I nearly peed my pants with glee. Not only was it awesome. It was also nostalgic and pure old school KA.
It's hard to even write this review as I'm still fangirling. This is technically a prequel but I think it makes it so much better reading the series first then reading this one because we get to see the love story that is Daisy and Marcus plus we get to see their HEA as well. And what a HEA it was. *Sigh*
And that bright, hopeful, happy beauty was the first thing that hit me every morning.If you read the Rock Chick series we knew Daisy had a sorted past but we didn't know all the details. Here is where we get to see all that went down and how Marcus won her heart.
The minute Marcus saw Daisy he wanted her, however it wasn't the right time. Now after a tragic event he makes it the right time. Because he doesn't want this beauty to be in pain."I don't pity you. I'm very sorry for what happened to you. What you endured. Very sorry, Daisy. However, I don't wish to have dinner with you because I pity you. I wish to have dinner with you because you're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen."
Daisy is pure southern love and comfort but it was hard to believe that all came out from the past she experienced. However, within every dark there is always light and for Daisy those moments of light are where her true inner beauty comes from.
"A woman like you should have had a momma who loved her. A daddy who adored her. Friends who thought the world of her. She should have grown up every day knowing that straight to her soul, never doubting it, nor for a second."Marcus may have some bad business practices but he is loyal to the core and true gentleman when it comes to woman. There couldn't be a better match then him for our very loveable Daisy.
"You of course know," he began informatively, "that one of the most attractive things a woman can be is knowing exactly who she is, embracing that entirely, and not giving that first fuck what anyone thinks about it."Marcus wants to do right by Daisy. But words and actions don't always match. With Daisy, she sees one thing but Marcus sees another. However, in pure alpha maleness Marcus lays it down so Daisy can finally see all the love that he has for her.
"You don't wanna fuck me," I whispered.This was so pure KA and I loved it!! It was reminiscent to the beginning of KA and why I fell in love with her writing and her very alpha males. Marcus and Daisy were perfect! And I loved how the whole series came together within this story plus we also got a bit extra with everyone in the very end of this beautiful, lovely story.
"No, I don't want to fuck you," he bit off.
"You want to make love to me."
"Yes, that's what I want to do and that's what I need you to feel when I do it."
