Blurb:
Chloe’s got it all: a happy marriage to Hollywood A-lister, Jason Vanderholt, her first child on the way, and the chance to be the maid-of-honor in her best friend, Lori’s, upcoming wedding. The stresses of the past year are behind her… almost.

Chris Winters, Chloe’s half-brother, still isn’t in jail, even though he’s the main suspect in a double homicide. The police don’t have enough hard evidence to charge him with the crime, but Chloe is certain it was him. After all, he tried to kill her when she was a child.

When Chris begins to stalk Lori, Chloe is furious and decides it is past time he was locked up for good. She has the best security team money can buy, yet she knows they’re missing something, and mistakes in this business can be deadly. The deeper she digs, though, the less the facts add up.

Chloe’s got mere weeks to figure out how to keep her best friend safe, save the wedding from disaster, and get Chris back in jail where he belongs. That is, if she can gather enough evidence before he strikes again.

Part 5 of a series

My Whatever After Review . . .

I always adore E.M. Tippetts and even more because Someone Else's Fairtyale was one my first reviews for an Author that I ever did.   It's been great to watch the evolution of Jason and Chloe and especially their sarcastic wit and banter between characters.  Whatever After is book five in this series, which means its best if read as a series so you truly get the back story of the friendship of Lori and Chloe and the love between Jason and Chloe.

This time around Jason and Chloe are trying to live out their HEA, but life is never easy for Chloe.  Especially when her lunatic brother comes back into the picture.  With her brother making threats to Chloe's best friend and her wedding.  It causes Chloe to go back home and help Lori out.

But where Chloe goes, so does trouble.  Even if she doesn't ask for it.  She's like a magnet for drama.  But thankfully with her profession the suspense is always a bit more fun the usual suspense stories.

"This was supposed to be frivolous and overkill, Miss Chloe.  What is it with you and smart criminals?  Why can't you get the usual violent dimwits?"
"I'm just special like that."

To some Chloe may be larger than life by whom she's married to, but to her family and friends she's just Chloe.  And this time around she wants the best for her friend even if Lori only gets whatever after.

"So we decided to give up on happily ever after.  We're committing to whatever after.  It's less romantic, but that's life, and that's okay."

I adore the loyalty and friendship between Lori and Chloe.  I also love the growth and change of the dynamics between Beth and Chloe and now Mr. Winters.   Jason and Chloe are always a bit awkward and sarcastic but also extremely cute and perfect for one another.  I adore these two together and this series is always great for sweet and drama filled suspense.

3 . 5 Whatever After thumbs up!
