About THE BEAUTY OF US:

New York Times bestselling author Kristen Proby delivers another sizzling novel in her delectable and sexy Fusion series.

Riley Gibson is over the moon at the prospect of having her restaurant, Seduction, on the Best Bites TV network. This could be the big break she’s been waiting for. But the idea of having an in-house show on a regular basis is a whole other matter. Their lives would be turned upside down, and convincing Mia, her best friend and head chef of Seduction, that having cameras in her kitchen every day is a good idea is daunting. Still, Riley knows it’s an opportunity she can’t afford to pass on. And when she meets Trevor Cooper, the show’s executive producer, she’s stunned by their intense chemistry.

Trevor’s sole intention is to persuade Riley to allow Best Bites TV to do a show on her restaurant. But when he walks into Riley’s office, he stops dead in his tracks. The professional, aloof woman on the phone is incredibly beautiful and funny. But can he convince her that he’s interested in Riley for himself? Or is he using the undeniable pull between them to persuade her to agree to his offer?

LISTEN TO ME CLOSE TO YOU BLUSH FOR ME

 EXCERPT:
“There seems to be an explosion in the jackass population,” I reply, and sigh, passing my glass to Kat for a refill.
“Where are you meeting them?” he asks, and I bite my lip.
“I don’t want to tell you.”
“Online,” he says with a nod.
“I didn’t say that!”
“Didn’t have to. If you met him at the gym or the grocery store, or somewhere else in person, you wouldn’t be embarrassed.”
“I’m not embarrassed.”
“Yes, you are. Otherwise, you wouldn’t mind telling me.”
“Fine.” I sigh and rub my forehead with my fingers. “I met them online.”
“Stop that,” he says.
“I don’t know where else I’d meet people,” I reply. “I’m at work at least fifty hours a week. I don’t do school or clubs or church, and I rarely go to the grocery store because I always eat here.”
“I could stop feeding you,” Mia interjects and I toss her a glare.
“I’m just saying, if you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten.”
“I don’t understand any of the words you just said.” I squint at him, trying to process.
“Switch it up,” he says with a grin. “Try to meet people somewhere else. I mean, you didn’t meet me online, and I’m not an asshole.”
“Sure, you’re cute, and you look like you have your shit together, but I suspect that once I got to know you I’d learn that you have mommy issues and fourteen dogs.”
“You might,” he says with a thoughtful nod. “I do hide those things well. All I’m saying is, stop using the dating sites and try meeting people in real life.”
“Yeah. Easy for you to say.” I pout into my wineglass. “Do I need to send you some money for this counseling session?”
“Nah, the first one’s on me,” he says, tossing that crazy-hot smile at me again. “Just don’t combine Star Wars and Star Trek anymore and that’s payment enough for me.”
He pulls a few bills out of his wallet and tosses them on the bar, then stands to leave.
“Have a good night, and good luck,” he says.
“Thanks.” Just as he’s almost out of view, I call out. “Wait! I didn’t ask your name.”
“Trevor,” he says, and my stomach immediately does at least four cartwheels. “Trevor Cooper.”
“You’re early,” is all I can think to say. My cheeks burning, my fingertips immediately tremble. “You’re not supposed to be here for two more days.”
“I like to come early. Get the lay of the land, that sort of thing.” He smiles and waves. “See you in a couple of days.”
He walks away, and as soon as I hear the front door close, I turn to my friends and just stare at them in utter horror.
“Tell me that didn’t just happen.”

CHRISSY
As a social worker, I've seen my fair share of broken families, bad relationships, and worlds of regret.
Because of that the last thing, I'll ever do is let down my guard, or open up my heart.
As for men, bring 'em on.
I love a good man in my bed, but I’m not looking for forever or happily ever after.
That's not my style.
Please me, and leave.
These are my rules.
There’s no bending or breaking them.
Even when he pulls out all the stops,
I'm not budging.
They’re set in stone.
Or should I say, “Rock?”

ROCK
I'm chiseling away at that hard exterior, one pebble at a time.
I don’t negotiate, I don't share, and
I sure as hell don’t wait my turn.
Despite her smart mouth and fiery ways,
I still want her.
But this "friends with benefits" deal of hers is bullshit.
I don't play that way.
At least, I don't plan to anymore.
I will own every ounce of her.
That body.
That mind.
That heart.
It will all be mine.

A new story of dangerous temptations from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the This Man trilogy.

“Thank you for your help,” I say quietly, studying him, definitely detecting that he’s deep in thought. Don’t ask, don’t ask, don’t ask. I need to get back into my apartment without engaging with him, which could prove tricky when he’s blocking the doorway and looking like he has no intention of shifting to let me in.
“Annie,” he breathes. “I’m struggling so badly.”
“I’m not doing this.” I swallow, pushing my way past him. He grabs me by the top of my arm and holds me in place. “Let me go, Jack.”
“I’ve already told you I can’t do that. Annie, I’m drowning here. I’m going out of my mind, and the more time I spend with you the fucking worse it’s getting. Listening to you, talking to you, sharing a passion with you that goes way beyond the amazing time we had in bed together.”
“You have to forget!” I yell, knowing anger is the only way forward. Be angry with him. Let it dominate me and rule me, because the alternative scares me to fucking death.
He pushes me into the hall and slams the door behind us, forcing me to back up. “No,” he says, straight and even. “No,” he repeats, moving one more step forward, except this time I don’t retreat. Because I can’t. Because he has me locked in place with those grey eyes, and now they’re back to their full glory. Sparkling, even if it’s with anger. He reaches for his shirt and starts unbuttoning it before shrugging it off and throwing it to the floor, revealing the chest that’s haunting me.
I quickly look down at the pile of material, my mind reeling. His chest. His perfect damn chest. “What are you doing?”
“I have no fucking idea.” He reaches for me and slides a hand around my neck, pulling me to him. Our chests meet, and my determination to repel him vanishes under our connection. Wrongs turn into rights. Conflict turns into craving.
“I can’t get you out of my head, Annie.” His forehead meets mine, his palm massaging away the tightness in my neck muscles, softening me up until I relax in his hold. “I want you all over again, and I can’t even find the will to worry about how much more that’ll make me want you.” He breathes down on me. “I’ve played that night on repeat. I’ve dreamed of holding you in my arms again. I’ve craved the sound of your voice, the feel of your touch, the softness of your lips on mine. I know I shouldn’t want you. But I do. Nothing has ever made me feel this insane with need. Nothing has taken up so much space in my head. I can’t fucking help it, Annie.” His grey gaze sinks into me, my heart steadying to an even thrum. His head starts to shake mildly, his splayed hand moving up to the back of my head and fisting my hair. “I don’t want to help it,” he growls. “I want you. I don’t care how wrong it is.” His clenched fist tightens, gripping my hair harshly. “I know I’ve been on your mind since I fucked you every which way in that hotel room. Stop denying it. Don’t insult me and tell me you don’t crave that amazing feeling all over again. I can see it in your eyes every damn time I look into them. You. Want. Me.”
It’s me who moves in first. All me. I lunge forward and smash my lips to his, the magnetic force winning. His words winning. Jack winning. My heart winning. I coax his mouth open with hard, hungry kisses. I’ve lost my mind to a craving too powerful to fight off. And, like Jack, I don’t care how wrong it is.
Lost.
Yet as he walks me backward until my back slams into the wall, I feel found again.
I cry out, and Jack moans. We’re clumsy and desperate. He’s pushing me up the wall with the force of his kiss, then he’s rolling away, taking me with him until it’s his back slamming into the wall. It’s the elevator all over again. The atmosphere is sizzling. I’m on fire. He scoops me up, pinning me to him, and carries me into my bedroom. I focus on him. Only him and the return of feelings that I’ve fantasized about since that unforgettable night. All the guilt is abandoning me, and I let it, unprepared to let anything stop me from taking the forbidden.

My The Forbidden Review . . .

It has been quite awhile since I read a Jodi Ellen Malpas book, so as soon as I saw the description I knew I had to read it.

I was hooked from the beginning and even though I had a feeling what the story line was going to be, I still jumped in knowing that this particular story line is hard to read at times.

I did feel like the story was quite predictable but it still kept me engaged throughout the whole story.  It felt like a very personal story that needed to be unleashed, which made the emotions come out even more.

Annie's main focus is her career and never men.  She truly doesn't understand the need for men as she's never had the heart deep feeling for a man before, so she didn't get why so many people fell.   One fateful night changes it all for her.   A few too many drinks.  Tons of chemistry.  Heart palpitations.  And a gorgeous man.

This night was amazing but freaks her out since she's never felt anything like that before.  So, instead of facing the morning after she bolts.  Only to have this mystery man be part of her work life but he has many secrets that change everything.

Jack is miserable but he made his bed with his choices.  However, meeting Annie changed everything.

I begrudgingly did like Jack and Annie even with the circumstances.  Jodi wrote them, that there was no way that you couldn't like them and were rooting for them even though . . .

The book's emotion were raw and well done.  I did like the story but the complete predictability is what dampened it in the end for me.

3 . 5 When it's right, its right thumbs up!

THE WRIGHT MISTAKE by K.A. Linde - Review Blitz

A new stand alone enemies-to-lovers romance by USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde...

I spent six weeks screwing Austin Wright’s brains out and all I got was this broken heart.

He can’t be trusted. Not with my body or my heart. Yet, two years have passed and I still crave him like an addict needing a fix.

The last time we tried this, it nearly ruined me. I know I should run and never look back. But his dark haunted eyes and razor blade smile speak to my soul. His touch sets my body on fire. And we all know what happens when you light gasoline. Someone is bound to get burned.

A second chance might destroy us both.

Because everyone knows two wrongs don’t make a Wright.

My The Wright Mistake Review . . .

Austin Wright is the black sheep of the Wright family.  He's still loveable just misunderstood with all of his drinking.  The only problem is Austin doesn't realize his drinking is actually a problem.  To him he's coping fine.  To all the other Wright's and their partners they know its a problem, they just don't know how to deal with it.

Julia is a transplant into the Wright business and now friends with Heidi and Emery.  Everyone knows that Julia and Austin had something in the past but have never learned the full details about why it ended.   Julia's always drawn to the bad boy and Austin is no exception but she's trying to stay away from that type because it never brings anything good for her.

Now that Julia is newly single again Austin tries to make his way back into Julia's life but his drinking once again gets in the way.   Julia's willing to give it a go, if Austin stops drinking.   Julia and Austin start to date again but it starts out tenuous.  Especially because both of them are keeping secrets from one another.  Which never works out when this happens.

As Julia and Austin are trying to figure things out, we get a devastating twist into the story with another character which just gutted me, as I was not expecting this story line at all.  As I and the Wright's move forward from this tragedy, both of Austin & Julia's secrets are coming to forefront.

As with this series, the Wright boys need to be set free until they can get their shit together before they win the women back.  This time around Austin has to clean up and find his way before he's able to win Julia back.

I did quite like this story, and I felt like the alcoholism story line was done well.  There were some gaps but that is a hard story line to completely capture the devastation that it can cause on a family or a relationship.

Julia was a strong heroine, which is always a preference for me and I feel it was portrayed well.    Now that Austin is finding his right footing within the Wright family its time we get to see the girls get their HEA and I can't wait for those stories.

3 . 5 Wrongs can make a Wright thumbs up!
