Pulled Under by Lisa Renee Jones Blog Tour #bookreview #excerpt #walkersecurity #teasers

ABOUT
A new sexy standalone from Lisa Renee Jones…

He is blond, tattooed, and dangerous. She's as beautiful as she is mysterious and could be his destruction…

Asher wasn't always a member of the elite Walker Security team, he was a billionaire's son, who rebelled against his father's controlling hand, and ended up in New York City's underground of drugs, rock n roll, and danger. But that is long behind him, and while his tattoos and long blond hair remain, he's now a chameleon, far more comfortable in a suit and tie than a leather jacket.

Or so he likes to tell himself.

But now Walker Security needs him back inside the underground club scene for a police case they're working. Women are dying, murdered, and the clock is ticking until another victim is claimed. When Asher is pulled back into this toxic world he meets Sierra, who is as beautiful as she is mysterious. A woman who calls to a darker side of him, long suppressed, unleashing it in what becomes wicked hot passion and obsession. But Sierra has a secret, one that leads her, and Asher, to a dangerous place, and game, with dangerous players, and the game is about life or death.

EXCERPT
“You want more now, and yet you don’t want it enough to make it end. And I already don’t want it to end, Sierra.”
She leans into me, her head resting on my shoulder, emotion that isn’t pleasure radiating off of her and crashing into me. I cup her face and tilt her chin up, my thumb stroking her cheek. “What are you thinking?”
“Nothing. Everything. Can you kiss me again already?”
“Where, Sierra?”
“Where?”
“Where do you want me to kiss you? Tell me.”
“Everywhere.” She pushes to her toes, and her lips find mine, looking for an escape, trying to drive her demons away.
I want to demand her answer, make her tell me where she wants my mouth, but I feel her desperation, her need to escape whatever is in her head. And so, I press my lips to hers, I kiss her mouth, drinking her in, and I don’t taste him this time. I taste her. I taste us. I taste need and hunger and passion. “I want you naked,” I say, my hands sliding inside her jeans and panties. “In every possible way, Sierra.”
“I’m pretty sure I’m already there, and it’s terrifying.” She flattens her hand on my chest. “If you turn into an asshole, I swear—”
“You can punish me,” I promise, “and I’m still willing to offer suggestions.”
“If you turn into an asshole after I trusted you,” she says. “I won’t need suggestions, Mr. Ex-Navy SEAL who won’t be able to hide from my wrath.”
Fuck, I’m crazy about this woman. “Good thing I’m not going to turn into an asshole. I want you naked,” I repeat, and this time, I make it happen. I lower myself to one knee and take her jeans and panties with me. My arm wraps her waist and I lift her, dragging her clothing away, and setting her back down. My hands settle on her hips then and I look up at her. She stares down at me, the simmering look in her eyes all about arousal, submission. And I want that from her and not because it’s some sex game, of which I could play and play well.
I press my lips to her belly and just that easily she trembles, and it only makes me want more. Everything is more with her.  I drag my mouth lower and lower...

Part 2 in a spin off series but can be considered a standalone

My Pulled Under Review . . .

I have to admit that I haven't finished the Original Walker Security series and also not book one yet.  I tried to first before reading this book but life didn't give me enough time.  I thought it would effect my reading experience but it didn't.  I was able to read this as a pseudo standalone.  I say pseudo because of Lisa Renee Jones's other series I am familiar enough with the Walker boys to not be lost in this book.   Sometimes authors say its a standalone when it belongs to a series and often I feel too many details unknown that it can't be considered a true standalone but this one could be a standalone but having any background on the Walker men does help the reading experience even more.

This book had a whole bunch of suspense and a whole lotta of passion.  How could it not with not one story line happening but two.  Plus you add in sexy yet funny Asher to the mix.

I have to admit I was quite liking the whole book until the end. From the beginning I was hooked and then I felt the peak, wrap up and conclusion happened way too quickly, lessening the ending of this book for me.  If it ended in the same pace the book was in, it would have been so much better.

Asher is under cover with Walker security and while he's there he meets Sierra who is on the run.  Together they try and fight her past and his current case.  While they are fighting the cases they fall for each other which went fine even though I was a bit confused at times when Sierra would meet a new person in the Walker group and act like she either knew about them or has met them before when that wasn't the case.  However, that was only a small irritant for me.  I did truly like the story so much but I was so disappointed about the speed of resolution after so much building that it changed how I felt about the story.  Gah! I hate that when it happens. Even though I was disappointed about the end doesn't mean others will nor will it effect me wanting to read more from this author.

Because of the build up of this story and the Walker Men in this book I'm even more excited to finish the original Walker Series (Tall, Dark and Deadly series) and also finish Deep under.    Can't wait for Falling Under.  Jacob's story should be interesting.

3 Suspense and Passion filled thumbs up!

Excerpt:

My eyes went to her throat. I saw her pulse quicken beneath her smooth skin. She twisted her pouty pink lips. Her hesitation only lasted a second before she wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled me down closer so that the tips of our noses touched. Her lips feathered against mine. "Fuck me, Finn."

"Yes," I growled.

I may have been the one who told her to say those words but hearing them out of her mouth caused the raging inferno of lust within me to explode beyond control. I had a feeling I'd be hearing those words on repeat in my head for the rest of my life.

Fuck me, Finn.

I lifted her up onto the nearest table and pushed her onto her back. I tore her panties off in one tug and while I devoured her with my eyes, I somehow managed to concentrate enough to unbuckle my belt and push my jeans down over my ass, freeing my throbbing cock.

Sawyer moaned when I parted her legs, stepping between them. The sound was pure fucking heaven. Our tongues danced while we drank each other in. I savored the way her body felt against mine. Hard against soft. I dug my fingers into the flesh of her perfectly round ass before moving them to her pussy where I parted her warm wet folds and strummed her swollen clit because Sawyer was my instrument of choice and only I knew how to play her to perfection.

The look on Sawyer's face when I inserted a finger inside of her was as if I'd just given her a drug. She was high on the pleasure. Her lids were heavy. Her pupils large and dark. I was dead set on making sure I wrung every bit of pleasure from her gorgeous body and I gave her exactly what she’d asked me for.

My The Outliers Review . . .

I have to admit that I've been chomping at the bit for this book as I was needing to know how it was all going to work out for Finn and Sawyer since the cliffhanger we were left with in The Outskirts.

The Outliers begins exactly where The Outskirts left off.  Which was the exact same place where the shit was just about to get real.

In The Outliers I felt it was a good closure to what was beginning in the first one.  Here we get all the answers to the questions that were left unanswered.  But I have to admit it was also a bit anti-climatic at times as well.  Maybe I come to expect a certain theme or way with T.M. Frazier and this book wasn't what I completely expected.  Don't get me wrong that's not a bad thing.  Its just an expectation thing which is my issue not the books.

I adore Finn and Sawyer together and I love how they helped save each other.  All the supporting characters were great but I have to admit I did find this book to be a bit predictable at times however there were also some nice surprises along the way that kept it interesting.  I liked this book but I will admit I didn't love it.  But that has no effect on my love for this author.  I still adore T.M. Frazier and will continue to read her stories.  One of my favorite things about T.M. Frazier is her ability to write super strong heroines, which are my favorite.  It doesn't matter if the stories are dark or light, the common thread is always a strong female lead.  Which I wish more authors would do.  I can't wait for more from her and at the end of this book we get a little sneak peak of what is to come.  Yeah!

About the Author:
My name is Toni Aleo and I’m a total dork.
I am a wife, mother of two and a bulldog, and also a hopeless romantic.
I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play!
When my nose isn’t pressed against the glass, I enjoy going to my husband and son’s hockey games, my daughter’s dance competition, hanging with my best friends, taking pictures, scrapbooking, and reading the latest romance novel.
I have a slight Disney and Harry Potter obsession, I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, I might have been a Disney Princess in a past life… probably Belle.
… and did I mention I love hockey?

My Two-Man Advantage Review . . .

I have to admit it has been FOREVER since I read a Toni Aleo book.  And what a shame that truth is.  As soon as I saw the author AND the fact that it was MM.  I was pumped for the opportunity to read it.

Wells and Matty have a great relationship but it has limits.  For Wells, that limit is being in the closet, and for Matty that is all he can give Wells.   For Matty, he truly loves Wells, but he fears what will happen if he comes out with his family, his fans and his team.   Wells needs to walk away but for them to find themselves again Matty will have to get his hockey stick out of his ass and Wells will have to be patient with the new murky waters that Matty is treading.

To properly review this one, I need to separate the goods and not as goods.

Here are my not as goods.  To start off with I read a TON of MM romances so it makes it a bit harder to truly appreciate a debut MM book.  However, Toni did a decent job into her first foray into the world of MM.    If this is someone's first jump into the world of MM then they will love it as it was sweet and steamy, but if you've read a ton of MM books then it may fall a bit flat at times.

My other issue was this is, it's technically considered a standalone but really its a spin off from the Assassins Series and the Bellvue Bullies series.  I will admit that I'm a few books behind in the Assassins series and I never read the Bellvue Bullies series and due to this I felt it left me a disadvantage while reading this book.

Now for the goods or greats of the book.  For one, the simple fact that in reality the NHL is one of the only sport leagues that does not have any openly gay players.  Which in reality, we know is not the truth.   It saddens me that within this league the gay players still don't feel comfortable enough to openly be gay.   So, the fact that this book addresses that issue is great.

The other good of this book was well frankly, Matty and Wells.  These two were great together, and I truly did like their story.  Sure some parts could have been beefed up more but it was still good.  The emotions of their reality was portrayed well even though I felt lost at times with the other character's back stories.

3 . 5 Freedom to be yourself thumbs up!
