You don’t get to make decisions for me, Mr. Pierce.”
“You’re wrong, baby. I do.”

Making the Match, an all-new spicy, heartfelt and emotional second chance standalone romance in the River Rain Series from New York Times bestselling author Kristen Ashley, is available now!

If you love second chance, single parent romance, pining, a couple over 40, redemption and forgiveness, this is the book for you.

Decades ago, tennis superstar Tom Pierce and “It Girl” Mika Stowe met at a party.

Mika fell in love. Tom was already in love with his wife. As badly as Tom wanted Mika as a friend, Mika knew it would hurt too much to be attracted to this amazing man and never be able to have him.

They parted ways for what they thought would be forever, only to reconnect just once, when unspeakable tragedy darkens Mika’s life.

Years later, the impossible happens.

A time comes when they’re both unattached.

But now Tom has made a terrible mistake. A mistake so damaging to the ones he loves, he feels he’ll never be redeemed.

Mika has never forgotten how far and how fast she fell when she met him, but Tom’s transgression is holding her distant from reaching out.

There are matchmakers in their midst, however.

And when the plot has been unleashed to make that match, Tom and Mika are thrown into an international intrigue that pits them against a Goliath of the sports industry.

Now they face a massive battle at the same time they’re navigating friendship, attraction, love, family, grief, redemption, two very different lives lived on two opposite sides of a continent and a box full of kittens.

Be the Girl by K.A. Tucker #bookreview #YA #sportsYAromance

Be The Girl

Almost sixteen-year-old Aria Jones is starting over. New postal code, new last name, new rules. But she doesn’t mind, because it means she can leave her painful regrets behind. In the bustling town of Eastmonte, she can become someone else. Someone better.

With the Hartford family living next door, it seems she will succeed. Sure, Cassie Hartford may be the epitome of social awkwardness thanks to her autism, but she also offers an innocent and sincere friendship that Aria learns to appreciate. And Cassie’s older brother, Emmett—a popular Junior A hockey player with a bright future—well … Aria wishes that friendship could lead to something more. If he didn’t already have a girlfriend, maybe it would.

But Aria soon finds herself in a dicey moral predicament that could derail her attempt at a fresh start. It is her loyalty to Cassie and her growing crush on Emmett that leads her to make a risky move, one that earns her a vindictive enemy who is determined to splinter her happy new world.

My Be the Girl  Review . . .

It has been awhile since I read anything from K.A. Tucker and it just reminded my why I love all that is K.A. Tucker.

I quite liked this book, it was relevant and emotional.

"She told me that the sooner you figure out how to like yourself through your own eyes, the sooner you'll stop trying to see yourself through everyone else's."

Too often story arcs are obvious in what direction they are heading, in Be the Girl it kept me on my toes and gave me surprises in direction which ended up having way more impact in the end instead of the assumed direction I originally thought it was heading.

Bullying is too relevant these days and with social media it is even a bigger issue. I thought this story nailed it on all aspects on how bullying can effect multiple people not just the intended target.

I adored Cassie and thought she was so well written. Emmett was amazing and an amazing big brother to Cassie. Aria was the crap shoot. At first I wasn't sure how her character was going to unfold and I made a lot of assumptions which were all wrong.

When we found Aria's truth I can see why many could turn on not liking her character but life is about hiccups and hurdles and its in those events where we learn life lessons. It is just how we choose to learn from them. To make things better or continue down the same path.

I liked Aria's growth as a character and I thought she was so well written. Her relationship with her mother and uncle were great. I adored her banter with Emmett but I also loved her friendship with Cassie and that friendship and learning from her past helped her grow to the person she became.

I liked that Emmett was the 'big guy' on campus but he and his friends were super sweet and kind.

My biggest regret in this story is the epilogue ended at the end of their school year, I would have loved to see a glimpse of what happens 5 or 10 years from now and see how things worked out for Aria, Emmett and Cassie.

4 Thumbs Up!

The Insiders & The Damaged by Tijan - Can't flipping wait for The Revenge #tijan #bookreviews #theinsiderstrilogy

The Insiders

(The Insiders Trilogy #1)

by

The Insiders is the first in a brand new, page-turning romance trilogy from New York Times bestseller, Tijan!

Bailey is as normal as could be, with a genius IQ and a photographic memory. But still, normal for her. Then, things happen—a guy breaks into her house in the middle of the night to take her hostage. She finds out her father is actually billionaire tech genius Peter Francis, the same guy she’s idolized all her life. She learns all this when she meets dark, mysterious, and electrifying Kashton Colello. He’s an associate of her father’s, and he gives Bailey two choices—go with him and meet her father or survive on her own because those kidnappers are going to try again. It’s a no-brainer.

After this, three things become clear for Bailey:

1. She’s living at her father’s sprawling estate, complete with bodyguards and the best security that money can buy.

2. She’s no longer an only child. She has three siblings and has no idea what to do with them and vice versa.

3. She is being guarded by Kash himself. Personally guarded. And there is a lot of guarding going on there and some of it is going to drive her crazy.

A complete outsider in a world of wealth and decadence, Bailey has to find her way within a family that has more secrets than she could have imagined. One of these secrets could be deadly…

My The Insiders  Review . . .

I had been on a huge Tijan kick when I first read this book.  And now all I have left is her paranormal books then I have read everything that is Tijan. So, when I saw this opportunity to read and review this book I jumped at the chance.

This is a new series and its great! Though you are left with a cliffhanger. Bailey is a certifiable genius when it comes to the computer world. So when she almost gets kidnapped she's brought into a world she didn't know existed. She gets thrown into a family she didn't know about and is being guarded by a mysterious gorgeous man named Kash.

She's instantly drawn to Kash and vice versa. I loved the chemistry between these two and I loved the banter and relationship between all the siblings. There were so many layers to this story that it keeps you on your toes from beginning to the end. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down and then I was left with anxiety because we have to wait to find out what happens with Bailey and Kash and all the elements that come with them.

At the end we also get bonus with what is written on a sign that Bailey writes but I have to admit the sign is long. So, either Kash is a speed reader or the sign was the length of her body. Even though the sign was long the words were sweet. I can't wait for more from this author and this series.

4 Baily & Kash loving thumbs up!

The Damaged

(The Insiders Trilogy #2)

by

“I can always count on Tijan to write an action-packed, intense, emotional story that will have me invested until the very last page.”—Helena Hunting, New York Times bestselling author

No longer an outsider, Bailey has a family and love that she never could’ve imagined.

Used to living in the shadows, Kash will now do anything to protect his family and his woman.

They will take on the world together…

In the meantime, stunning motives, lies, and explosive secrets continue to unfold.

1. Quinn is in jail, awaiting trial.

2. Friends might actually be enemies.

3. And what is Calhoun plotting? More importantly, will Kash discover it before it’s too late?

Everything will come to a head as passion and danger ignite in The Damaged.

My The Damaged  Review . . .

When I got this opportunity to review this book I was ecstatic. I was left hanging with the Insiders and couldn't wait for more from this story and from this author. Tijan never seems to disappoint with her characters and stories.

At the end of Insiders we are left with a twist with Kash & Bailey. The Damaged begins shortly after the end of The Insiders.

I love how Kash is with Bailey especially after he admits his love for her. Bailey is trying to deal with the aftermaths of all the issues that happened in the first book while Kash is trying to prepare for a psychological war.

There is so many webs and layers with this story. With Bailey trying to fit in with her new family, while at the same time fit in with her fellow students and into a world she was never part of. But in reality she just wants to be normal but there are so many things stopping her from enjoying the simple things, like friends and football games.

There are so many other moving elements as well with Calhoun, Quinn, Marie, Theresa, Payton, Peter, Matt, Victoria, Hoda, Camille and then we are left with a couple of big ones at the end of this book leaving us hanging and needing more. There are so many more unanswered questions and I am dying because as of right now The Revenge isn't slated until mid September 2022!! OMG it feels forever. I NEED MORE!!!! Gah!

Well even though it will feel like forever it will be worth the wait as I absolutely LOVE this series. I was hooked from the 1st page of the Insiders and I am completely enraptured into this series.

4.5 I am dying to find out what happens thumbs up!
