Rush

by

This new adult, male/male romance will capture the audience who fell in love with Nyrae Dawn's Games Trilogy.

For the love of the game.

Brandon Chase has always defined himself by one thing: football. Tough and athletic, he is a great college player who enjoys the hard hits and the sweaty grind of the gridiron. But when Brandon is injured, only one person can help him get back on track-a forbidden love he's desperately tried to put behind him.

Alec Andrews has never quite forgiven Brandon for walking away when their friendship turned into something more. But he can't deny help to one of his closest friends. As the two spend the long, hot summer working together, their old attraction comes flooding back.

Now as Alec thinks about coming out to his conservative family and Brandon considers revealing he's a gay football player, the two men must be strong to fight for a love that could be the greatest rush of their lives.

"Devastatingly relevant, engaging, sexy, and ultimately heroic. Rush is the kind of book that will keep you reading late into the night." -J.H. Trumble, author of Don't Let Me Go

My Review...

MM & Nyrae Dawn who is the queen at male POV's what an amazing combination.

As I started to  read Rush I remembered hearing that Brandon and Alec were based from another book but none of the previous Nyrae Dawn books were ringing a bell with these characters so I went on to goodreads and found out that we first meet Brandon and Alec in her book called Four Summers.  Rush is a stand alone book and you can read it as is and love it just as much but I abandoned Rush after the first two chapters to read Four Summers because I wanted their WHOLE story.  I was so happy with this decision to do so.  In Four Summers the story is based on Alec's best friend and Brandon's brother so we get to see the beginning of these boys.

After Four Summers I jumped right back into reading Rush and then couldn't put it down.  Being gay is hard enough for most but the pressures of being an athlete and gay can make it so much worse.

All Brandon thinks he is worthy of is being a good football player.  He also thinks that he has nothing more to offer besides football.  But to have football means giving up his heart.

Alec has loved Brandon from the first summer he met him and he is mad at Brandon for choosing a lie instead of the truth but when Brandon needs help Alec drops everything to be with him only to have the lie thrown back in his face again.

Brandon wants both and doesn't know how to get what he wants.

This is a beautiful love journey about love that some may unfortunately feel is wrong but the reality of it is so right.  This story is about love being enough no matter what the consequences are and choosing your own happiness instead of what others people think is right.

Nyrae Dawn has a gift of male POV and with this being her first foray into the mm genre I think she did a bang up job with Brandon and Alec.  You got to feel their love and hardships. Loved it!!!!!

There is no measure of time.

The More Series

More Than This, #1

*Mikayla*

In one night my fairytale ended. Or it may have begun. This is my story of friendship and love, heartbreak and desire, and the strength to show weakness.

*Jake*
One night I met a girl. A sad and broken girl, but one more beautiful than any other. She laughed through her sadness, while I loved through her heartbreak.

*This is our story of a maybe ever after.*

He was right. It made no difference whether it was 6 months or 6 years.
I couldn’t undo what had been done. I couldn’t change the future.
I couldn’t even predict it.
It was one night.
One night when everything changed.
It was so much more than just the betrayal.
It was the Tragedy.
The Deaths.
The Murders.
But it was also that feeling.
The feeling of falling.

More Than Her, #2

For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction." For every choice you make there are rewards, or there are consequences. It was my choice to walk away the first time. And my choice to chase her the second. But sometimes you don't get a choice, and all you get are the consequences.” "Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” Unless that someone is Logan Matthews. Because loving him didn't give me the strength to walk away. It didn't give me the courage to fight for him. And when it was over, all it gave me was a broken heart.

More Than Him, #3

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us." - Marianne Williamson

We live in a world of darkness and shadows,
where monsters hide and aim to ruin.
And they did.
They ruined us and turned our dreams into nightmares.
But now we're back.
And we're fighting.
Not just for us, or for each other, but for our light.
