The Dark Light of Day

Warning: This is not your typical romance. The story of Abby & Jake contains disturbing situations, graphic violence, sex, rape, strong language, drug use, and all types of abuse.

Abby has been through hell and has survived one of the most brutal childhoods imaginable…barely.

To the outside world she's just a loner with an attitude.

When her grandmother dies in a tragic explosion, Abby is left with questions-and nothing else.

Homeless, sleeping in a junkyard, and on the run from a system that has failed her over and over again, she meets Jake, a tattooed blue-eyed biker with secrets that will rival her own.

Two broken souls that can't be healed. They can't be saved.

Abby & Jake must reveal to one another their most guarded secrets and discover if they can embrace the darkness those secrets hold-and the darkness within themselves.

If they can accept one another for who they really are, they might be able to learn that love isn’t always found in the light.

*stand alone novel, HEA in a twisted kind of way, no cliffhangers, no sequel

My Review...

How could broken plus broken ever equal whole?

This book was soooo good.  I was away down south and in bit of a reading rut but this beautiful yet dark story brought me out of it.  It's been a couple of weeks since I read it but as I start to write this review I almost forgot the heartache and beauty of it.  This is a book that you have to experience.  Their lives are not for the faintest heart but it is about light in the dark, hope, second chances and finding love when you least expect it.  It's dark and profoundly beautiful.  It's graphic and heartbreaking yet hopeful.  It's about to broken souls that are whole together and its perfect even though Jake broke my heart for a big chunk of the book.

Jake and Abby came from horrific lives but they made the best of their circumstances.  What they didn't count on was each other.  Abby had a really good reason to have be guarded but Jake saw her beauty and chipped down her wall to give her a glimpse of happiness only to tear it all away.

However, they are survivors but need each other to become whole and at peace within themselves and each other.

This is one of the books that you need to experience for yourselves but go into it with an open mind and an open heart so you can truly live through all its beauty.  This was my first T.M. Frazier books and will definitely not be my last. I loved it!

5 Light in the Dark thumbs up!
