“Really? You got me donuts?” I arch a brow, dropping the lid.
He turns, a mischievous smile fitting his face.
“Don’t all cops like donuts?” he jeers. I roll my eyes, placing my hand on my hip.
“That’s so stereotypical,” I huff.
“Oh, really?” he replies, grabbing the box off the table, a smug smile still on his face.
“I’ll get rid of them then.”
“No, wait!” I nearly trip over my feet trying to grab the box of donuts. He holds them higher than me and smiles so big I think I see two dimples. Really, he’s pulling the notorious bully move holding them just above my reach? Why am I attracted to him again?
“I thought you didn’t like them,” he taunts.
“I do like them. A lot, actually.” I cross my arms, my cheeks flushing. My dad used to always take me to the local bakery to get donuts on the weekends. I would get whatever I wanted—usually anything with sprinkles—and we would drop the rest off at the department. What can I say, embrace your stereotypes.
“So, it’s true. Cops love donuts,” he states arrogantly, sitting the box back down.

My Reign Review . . .
This is my first M.N. Forgy book (insert gasp here). After reading the synopsis I signed up for this opportunity, but lately every MC book as been a bit disappointing, which has been sad for me as I'm a bit of a junkie with this genre. Thankfully this book was a pleasant surprise.
Zeek is the president of his MC but to get there he had to make many sacrifices. Jillian is a rookie sheriff with something to prove. An MC outlaw and a sheriff seem like the most unlikely duo but they seem to work.
At first it's just attraction because it would be a death sentence for either to give in . . . but that attraction was more powerful than logic.
"A Cock-A-Saurus Rex." She hakes her head. "You lucky bitch."
It starts out quick and dirty for these two, but ends up heavy and real soon after.
"You're the first light in my life after ling a lifetime of darkness."
As both start to realize that not all is what it seems to be in their worlds, they're forced with many truths and consequences that they're now forced to deal with.
"You don't realize the savage acts you're capable of until you are backed into a corner. You just have to broaden your outlook on what's right and wrong to find your place."
By the end I was getting into this book and looking forward to the resolution or solution for Zeek and Jillian then . . . the dreaded cliff hanger happened and now we are left waiting to find out what is in store for them. PLUS, now I have to read the first series Devil's Dust to really get the whole story, which won't be a real hardship to do, lets be honest. :)
Did I enjoy it? Yes, for the most part. Will I continue with the series? Yes. Will I read more from this author? Yes. Did I like Zeek and Jillian together? Yes, even though they shouldn't work they do. Did I find this MC more to my liking? Yes, this MC was dark, dirty and raw. No MC lite for this book.
