I would love to just be in Keri Lake's brain for a minute. Her stories are fascinating. They're dark yet still beautiful. Intrepid is technically a spin off from the Vigilantes series. You don't have to read the others first to know what is going on, but it always helps to set the backdrop of the series.
This time around the need for vengeance is from a man name Ty. He wants to right some wrongs in the only way he knows how to create his justice. It may not be the right way, but its the only way that can help save his haunted soul.
He has a list of targets but along the way he meets a mysterious girl named Sera, whom changes everything.
However, not everything is as it seems. The story flips back and forth from past to present, which helps set up the reason for vigilante justice.
Sera is tired of men telling her what to do, but she too is more than she seems from first appearance.
Ty and Sera are drawn to each other. Even though they try to fight it, however fate is a tricky bitch and has other things in mind when it comes to these two.
The way Keri writes makes you sympathize with the anti-hero. She makes you believe the only way for justice in these story is vigilance . She makes you feel that there is no other way. And for the two love interests it only makes sense when they fall into each other, even though in so many other circumstances it wouldn't make sense. But for Keri she puts it together so brilliantly that you are rooting for these unconventional couples, and are hoping for triumph for when the wrongs get righted.
I can not wait for more from Keri Lake and this series. Can't wait to read Dax's story.
