While It Lasts (Sea Breeze #3)

Abbi Glines (Goodreads Author)
Maybe driving home after a few (or more) shots of tequila had been a bad idea, but hell, he did it all the time. The cops had to have been freaking bored to have pulled him over. He wasn’t even swerving! That’s Cage York’s story and he’s sticking to it.
Unfortunately, his baseball coach isn’t buying it. Cage has a free ride to the local junior college for baseball -- or he did, until he’d gotten a DUI. Now, Cage has to decide: does he drop out and give up his dream of getting noticed by a college in the SEC, and possibly making it into the Major Leagues -- or does he give in to his coach’s demands and spend his summer baling hay?
Eva Brooks planned out her life step by step when she was eight years old. Not once over the years had she lost sight of her goals. Josh Beasley, her next door neighbor, had been the center of those goals. He’d been her first boyfriend at seven, her first kiss at ten, her first date at fifteen, and her first tragedy at eighteen. The moment she’d received the phone call from Josh’s mother saying he’d been killed along with four other soldiers just north of Baghdad, Eva’s carefully planned life imploded in the worst way possible.
Cage isn’t real happy with his closet-sized bedroom in the back of a foul smelling barn, or his daily interactions with cows, but he knows that if he doesn’t make his coach happy then he can kiss his scholarship goodbye. Only a sick and twisted man would decide his punishment was to be working on a farm all summer. No hot babes in bikinis waiting to meet a Southern boy to make her vacation complete. Just him and the damned cows.
Oh -- and an uptight, snarky brunette with the biggest blue eyes he’s every seen. But she doesn’t count, because as hard as he’s tried to charm her out of her panties - he’s pretty sure she’d rather see him hung from the rafters than let him get a taste of her pretty little lips.

My Review...
So I was captivated from the very beginning with this book. Abbi Glines had me in tears from the damn prologue and hooked till the very end.
Let me tell you I loooooove Cage. I started to love him in Because of Low book #2 and could not wait for him to have his own story. With Cage from the beginning you feel that your heart is ripped open and you so badly want him to be whole and find the love that he truly deserves.
I was not sure who could have been the partner to be able to tame Cage's wild side and Eva could have not been more of a perfect fit. Eva's story shattered me. I was honored to read this story and to feel the healing aspect of true love and how it can make you whole.
I absolutely love this series but as of right now While it Lasts is my favorite in this series. However I can not wait to read # 4 and hear about Preston's story and I would love to also find out more about Jeremy maybe....just a thought. :)
I absolutely love Abbi Glines stories and recommend this book and all her other series.
This book has 5 freakin' fabulous thumbs up!
The Wild Ones
The Wild Ones
The Wild Ones
Passion as hot as midnight in the South and love as wild as the horses they tame.
Camille “Cami” Hines is the darling daughter of the South’s champion thoroughbred breeder, Jack Hines. She has a pedigree that rivals some of her father’s best horses. Other than feeling a little suffocated at times, Cami thought she was pretty happy with her boyfriend, her life and her future.
But that was before she met Patrick Henley.
“Trick” blurs the lines between what Cami wants and what is expected of her. He’s considered the “help,” which is forbidden fruit as far as her father is concerned, not to mention that Trick would be fired if he ever laid a hand on her. And Trick needs his job. Desperately. His family depends on him.
The heart wants what the heart wants, though, and Trick and Cami are drawn to each other despite the obstacles. At least the ones they know of.
When Trick stumbles upon a note from his father, it triggers a series of revelations that could ruin what he and Cami have worked so hard to overcome. It turns out there’s more to Trick’s presence at the ranch than either of them knew, secrets that could tear them apart.

My Review...
I first fell in love with M. Leighton books with Fragile so I could NOT wait for this book. I have not read her others but will definitely be in the near future.
I friggin' loved this book. I loved Trick! He is so dear to my heart. Your heart goes out to Cami and Trick and the BS that they are strapped with that truly has nothing to do with them. You are routing for them from the beginning.
The chemistry between the two is palpable. The emotion from their families is stifling. You feel everything!
I love M. Leighton's way of writing and her way of reeling you in to the characters and their feelings.
I hope this book is part of a series so we can find out more about all the characters especially more Trick and Cami.
5 fantastic thumbs up!

Book Boyrfriend Monday - Noah Hutchinson
I am so flippin' excited that Pushing Limits is coming out on July 31/12 that way you can all share my book boyfriend with me which is:
Noah Hutchinson from Pushing Limits by Katie McGarry
Noah is so dear to my heart. He as lived through such tragedy and deserves to be loved.
The reasons why I love Noah
1) He is super loving with his brothers
2) His Love for Echo is unexpected and undisciplined
3) He has an amazing heart with his family and friends
4)His ability to love Echo for who she is and not what she looks like
5)His protectiveness and loving support
I wrapped my fingers around her fragile hand. Touching Echo felt like home.
Echo withdrew into her hair the moment she entwined her fingers with min. I hadn't touched weed in over a week yet somehow I floated above the ground, my blood ran warm in my veins and I felt high - no, not high...invincible.
"This dance seemed so damned important to you. And you...you're important to me."
"One time offer, Echo. You and me, but you've gotta dump the ape..."
"We have forever to work up to that, Echo. Let's enjoy every step of the way."
All quotes and phrases from Pushing Limits
So wrong for each other...and yet so right.
No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal. But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she'll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.

"I won't tell anyone,
Echo. I promise." Noah tucked a curl behind my ear. It had been so long
since someone touched me like he did. Why did it have to be Noah
Hutchins? His dark brown eyes shifted to my covered arms. "You didn't do
that-did you? It was done to you?" No one ever asked that question.
They stared. They whispered. They laughed. But they never asked.

Defying the Odds
Defying the Odds (Battered Hearts #1)
When struggling waitress Melody Dylan gives a handsome, lonely stranger a simple gift she has no clue her life is about to take a drastic turn.
The stranger ends up being Clay Powers, a famous UFC heavyweight fighter. Clay’s large build and dangerous fists have always intimidated. People in his hometown keep their distance and Clay is fine with that. Everything changes when a new waitress at the local diner buys him a piece of pie on thanksgiving. Touched by the gesture when it’s obvious she can barely afford to survive, her warm smile and lush body churn up powerful feelings that leave Clay wanting more from her than pie.
Melody is running from her past and the small, country town of Garnet is the perfect hiding place. With an ex-husband after her and scars from her abusive marriage etched deep, the last thing she expects is to fall for a man who makes a living with his fists, but she can’t resist Clay or the tender connection they share.
Finding love in the most unlikely of places, the passion is undeniable, but Clay and Melody know their haunted pasts and unpredictable futures leave the odds stacked against them.
Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find objectionable: violence.

My Review...
Ok, so with really good love stories I find the connection has to be immediate for me to believe it or has to be a slow growth. In this book I found the connection to quick for substance but not quick enough for that electric connection between lovers.
The story was good and had some great elements in it. I liked the side characters of Wyatt and Jules and I am excited to read the next ones to find out what happens with them.
I was glad to have a happy ending for Clay and Melody. The story was unfortunately predictable. I think for me to feel more of a connection with the main characters I needed more "oomph" with their back stories for them to seep into my soul during reading.
Otherwise it was a good read and I would give it 3.5 thumbs up!

My Review...
I normally like this type of story line. I will say that I liked this story but I did not love it.
There was something of substance missing for me throughout the book. It was a cute story and a quick read which I always like.
The characters of Jo and Jake were good. It had potential. It could be maybe that I did not relate to the paparazzi life.
But I am just one person's opinion and I think this as the potential for other readers especially the real YA market. When I say real YA that is because I LOVE YA books and normally find them for all ages but this one I think was geared more for true YA(teens). So since that is the case I am sure that they would give more thumbs up then me.
3 thumbs up!

My Review....
Not a surprise as I am a big fan of Kristen Ashley and I was super excited to read this book from the Colorado Mountain Series and I have to say I frakking loved this book!
I loved the chemistry of Chace and Faye and I absolutely loved how Faye helped Chace to become unbroken.
My favorite parts which included me crying were the scenes with Miah especially is valedictorian speech. My oh my! This story line I thought was great and heart warming.
I loved the fact that there was an appearance of Ally. I think it is so amazing to see different charcters from her different series appear in different books. Amazing!
I felt Breathe evoked similar emotions that The Gamble did when I read that one. Chace for sure is going on my book boyfriend list. *swoon* I also loved that we got to catch up on all of our past colorado mountain men in here.
Definitely recommend this sah-weet book and the whole series and let's be honest all her series! :)
5 thumbs up!
