Wells Lemiere knew the moment he saw Matty Haverbrooke, he had to have him. Matty was quiet, he was talented, he was beautiful, and Wells couldn’t stay away. As the youngest and most talented son of the NHL Commissioner, Matty had found the burden of family expectations almost too heavy to carry on even his broad shoulders. He had no intention of getting involved in a relationship with Wells. But the heart he’d given up for dead had other ideas. Their affair was intense and overwhelming, but when Matty couldn’t bring himself to come out and admit he wanted a public future with the man he loved, Wells had no choice but to honor his vow to live openly…and leave Matty behind. But then he learns Wells is marrying another, and Matty knows he can't let that happen. Can he throw down his gloves and embrace his future with both hands? Or will he pull the door to his closet shut once more?

About the Author:
My name is Toni Aleo and I’m a total dork.
I am a wife, mother of two and a bulldog, and also a hopeless romantic.
I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play!
When my nose isn’t pressed against the glass, I enjoy going to my husband and son’s hockey games, my daughter’s dance competition, hanging with my best friends, taking pictures, scrapbooking, and reading the latest romance novel.
I have a slight Disney and Harry Potter obsession, I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, I might have been a Disney Princess in a past life… probably Belle.
… and did I mention I love hockey?

My Two-Man Advantage Review . . .

I have to admit it has been FOREVER since I read a Toni Aleo book.  And what a shame that truth is.  As soon as I saw the author AND the fact that it was MM.  I was pumped for the opportunity to read it.

Wells and Matty have a great relationship but it has limits.  For Wells, that limit is being in the closet, and for Matty that is all he can give Wells.   For Matty, he truly loves Wells, but he fears what will happen if he comes out with his family, his fans and his team.   Wells needs to walk away but for them to find themselves again Matty will have to get his hockey stick out of his ass and Wells will have to be patient with the new murky waters that Matty is treading.

To properly review this one, I need to separate the goods and not as goods.

Here are my not as goods.  To start off with I read a TON of MM romances so it makes it a bit harder to truly appreciate a debut MM book.  However, Toni did a decent job into her first foray into the world of MM.    If this is someone's first jump into the world of MM then they will love it as it was sweet and steamy, but if you've read a ton of MM books then it may fall a bit flat at times.

My other issue was this is, it's technically considered a standalone but really its a spin off from the Assassins Series and the Bellvue Bullies series.  I will admit that I'm a few books behind in the Assassins series and I never read the Bellvue Bullies series and due to this I felt it left me a disadvantage while reading this book.

Now for the goods or greats of the book.  For one, the simple fact that in reality the NHL is one of the only sport leagues that does not have any openly gay players.  Which in reality, we know is not the truth.   It saddens me that within this league the gay players still don't feel comfortable enough to openly be gay.   So, the fact that this book addresses that issue is great.

The other good of this book was well frankly, Matty and Wells.  These two were great together, and I truly did like their story.  Sure some parts could have been beefed up more but it was still good.  The emotions of their reality was portrayed well even though I felt lost at times with the other character's back stories.

3 . 5 Freedom to be yourself thumbs up!
