Combust by K. Bromberg Review Tour #bookreview #teaser #romance

Combust, an all new sexy and emotional standalone by K. Bromberg is NOW AVAILABLE!

From New York Times Bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes the second standalone book in the Everyday Heroes series. Just how hot will firefighter Grady Malone turn up the heat?

Songwriter Dylan McCoy has been burned. By her boyfriend she found in her bed . . . with someone else. By the contract she signed that obligates her to work with him until the songs for his new album are complete. By her agent when she asked Dylan to keep their breakup on the down-low. When she finds herself in Sunnyville, she refuses to let her new roommate burn her too. Still . . . a rebound has never looked so good. That’s her first thought when she sees firefighter Grady Malone. Sexy. Charismatic. Unapologetic. He’s a man who carries his own scars—the ones on his back, the survivor’s guilt on his soul, and the fear in his heart. When an unexpected visitor puts their roommate status to the test, will their undeniable attraction burn out, or will they both take a chance and play with fire?

Part 2 of a series but can be read as a Standalone

My Combust Review . . .

I was 66% through once I realized this was part of a series and then I put it down to read Cuffed (book 1).  I was hoping it would give me a bit more background, which it did but not as much as I thought it would.  Then after finishing Cuffed I jumped back in to find out more about Grady & Dylan.

In Cuffed Grady was the fun loving brother and he still is to an extent here in Combust, but between the two books tragedy struck for Grady causing so many scars on this man inside and outside.  Which caused him to put up shields to be able to just survive through life instead of living it to its fullest.

"I can't live my life in maybes, Em."

"Oh, sweetie, I know, but you also can't live your life in what could have beens either."

Now normally I'm not a fan of insecure woman but K. Bromberg did a good job with Dylan's insecurities without it being the only thing about Dylan that we focus on.  Instead it was just a result of something that happens to her.  Thankfully all of her the other bits shone in comparison to her insecurities.

"You don't drown by falling in the pool, Grady.  You drown by not trying to swim out of it,"

Dylan and Grady were the perfect match for each other which let both of them to help heal each other's wounds.  But I have to admit Betsy Malone's meddling ways is near and dear to my heart.  I always adore the meddling sub characters within stories.

After reading both of Cuffed and Combust, I still don't have a hot clue on Grayson's  past and how he came about to have a child with no mother in the picture.  This is now making me foam at the bit for Cockpit, which can't come soon enough.

Also later in the year we get Emerson's outspoken confident friend Desi's novella.  Can't wait for either of these and I'm now hooked onto the Malones and this series

4 Combustible Thumbs up!
