Verity by Colleen Hoover #bookreview #romanticthriller

Verity

by
Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.

Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity's notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn't expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity's recollection of what really happened the day her daughter died.

Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen's feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife's words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her.

A standalone romantic thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover.

My Verity Review . . .

This book is a bit of a mind F#$%! But it's so good. There are so many details, layers and nuances to this story that make it great. Even the end has you doubting what is the truth or not. It kind of is a romance but yet not. It's dark and gritty and it captures you from the first sentence.

This is another book that needs to be experienced to get the full picture. If I give too much in my review it would ruin the experience. Going in blind would give it the best experience.

Every character was well written. The suspense was well done. The way the 'truth' came out was done spectacularly. Colleen Hoover is one of my favorites and I love the depth and range she has within her stories.

Can't wait for more from this author!!!

4 Kept me on my toes thumbs up!

Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan #bookreview #NAromance #romance

Archer's Voice

by

A New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling book. Archer's Voice is a full-length, standalone romance.

When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.

Archer's Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.

THIS IS A STANDALONE SIGN OF LOVE NOVEL, INSPIRED BY SAGITTARIUS. New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

My Archer's Voice Review . . .

This has been on my kindle FOREVER, and I finally got around to reading it. I know, I know what a fool I have been waiting this long. This story was magnificent in it's depth and beauty.

Some of my favorite quotes that one my heart:

~ Maybe there was no right or wrong, no black or white, only a thousand shades of gray when it came to pain and what we each held ourselves responsible for.~

~ And try to believe that maybe more light shines out of those who have the most cracks.~

I stand by my logic though. I think love is a concept, and each person has an individual word for what sums it up for them. My word for love is Bree.

And then . . . Chapter 34. It was done so beautifully. It is a page and half but it gets you right in the feels.

This story is not your typical hero but with Mia that is normally the case, and to me that is what makes her stories so amazing. For Archer, the world ignores him until Bree. For Bree, she sees the beauty in everyone. Archer's back story is so heartbreaking, as well as Bree's. And together they found the light in a dark world. Once Archer starts to blossom the world is still not kind to him which is sadly cruel and reflective to real life. So many people have an issue when someone whom is different. I wish the world could be more like Bree and see the good and not see the other stuff.

I believe this got optioned for a movie years ago but I truly hope that comes to fruition, as I would love to see this on the big screen.

Can't for more from this author!!!

4.5 Beautiful Thumbs up!

Original Sin

(The Order of Vampires #1)

by

Adam Hartzler has always been an honorable immortal, but the fine line between right and wrong begins to blur when he is called to his true mate. If he does not find and claim her soon, he will lose his soul and humanity, transforming into a vile predator controlled by insatiable bloodlust, sentenced to a demonic and tortured eternity as a vampire.

Adam sets out on a quest to hunt his mate and claim her before it is too late. His salvation relies on his destined mate’s surrender, but when she refuses to cooperate, Adam must set aside his morals and do what is needed to survive. Time’s slipping away with his control, and his territorial instincts refuse to let her go.

Annalise Snow awakens on a primitive farm removed from modern civilization and in fear of her life. Her captor is determined to keep her prisoner and believes he is somehow entitled to her future. But she will not surrender easily. When Adam asks for the ultimate sacrifice, she must decide if he lives or dies.

Passion and emotion collide in an explosive meeting of destined souls, but love is never a guarantee, especially when eternity begins with betrayal.

Part 1 of a series

My Original Sin Review . . .

I have read a lot of paranormal vampire stories but NEVER a Amish vampire story. You'd think that combination wouldn't work, but it so does. It's the perfect way to keep them segregated and for them to not have to move every few years so people don't realize they don't age.

~ All the good ones are either gay or Amish-said no one ever.~

Writing it this way with the Amish, is also a great way to show our downfalls as a society with our excessiveness, and our quick ways to judge and look down on others that are different.

~They mocked his clothing and only recognized their differences, hardly noticing their similarities. ~

For Annalise, she not only has to overcome the differences but also has to face her personal spiritual demons.

"No, our Amish culture is part of who we are. It's the veil that protects us from the rest of the world."

Though for Adam being Amish he's also sheltered and drinks the kool-aid of what he's been taught. With Annalise, he's forced to question his beliefs and learn to compromise.

"Because I need choices. Women have opportunities where I live."

I adored the story. There were so many layers of this story that keeps you reeled in and waiting to find out what happens. This story has also set up for this series to continue. I can't wait to find out what happens with Larissa, Cain, Gracie and also Jonah.

Can't wait for more from this series and from this author.

4 Soul mate loving thumbs up!
