Blurb
Brotherhood is what Bull bleeds and all that he knows.
Being the king of The Devil’s Dust and surrounded by easy women was his everyday… until having his heart broke rooted him to the bottom of a whiskey bottle.
Heartbroken, and drowning in lost memories he’s unsure of the direction of his life, when the answer – consisting of a terrified Mexican girl- nearly knocks him off his feet.
Determined to get his act together and rectify his club, he rides to Texas for answers, only to be confronted with the emotional ghosts he isn’t ready to deal with.
He sees Anahi, and he wants her.
But she may come with more baggage than Bull is ready for.

Anahi used to be prim and proper. She used to wear dresses and keep up appearances to impress people she didn’t know. I guess you could say she was a fucking lady.
But that was when she lived in Mexico with her parents.
Before her uncle turned on her.
Before, the only man she ever loved, her step-brother, betrayed her.
Before she was forced to be a drug mule for the Cartel.
Evening gowns a lost memory, expensive heels traded for boots, and a nine millimeter in her hand instead of a limited edition purse. Anahi sets aside everything she’s ever known including the fairytale stories her mother told her about America.
She’s angry, determined, and looking for a way out.

EXCERPT
**Beware - x-rated**

“Bull?” my voice breathy.
“Yeah?”
“The last time I let someone close to me… it didn’t go well.”
He pecks a kiss on my erect nipple that was in his mouth seconds before.
“Anahi, Alvaro is a boy pretending to be a man, and I’m about to show you the difference between pretending and actually being,” he states matter of fact, his tone smug.
I smirk. “You’re so arrogant.”
He lifts his chin, his eyes finding mine. “Only one way to find out, darlin’,” he states wolfishly.  “I’m going to fuck you to the point you’ll have to take your time sitting down afterwards, baby.”
With that, the head of his length presses into me. My back arches off the bed, an audible gasp leaving my lips. Bull pushes in another couple inches, filling me to the point I swear I can’t take anymore. The sensation of burning and bliss battling with one another I can’t help but fidget beneath him. I don’t know whether to cry or moan.
He slips in more, filling me to the brink and a cry rips up my throat. Bull presses his lips against mine, silencing my pain.
Fucking me like he hates me, but kissing me like he cares.

Part 5 in a series but can be read as a Standalone

My What Might Kill Us Review . . .

I originally started with the Sin City Outlaw series which was a spin off from the the Devil's Dust series.  So when I found out this was available to read, I jumped at the chance.  Now I read this is a standalone and even though I didn't read the whole series I never felt lost.

Here we have the very broken MC president and when he stumbles across a beautiful young girl.  His whole world changes because he finds love and it also answers many unanswered questions he has had since the loss of his last love.  Which happened in the previous books.

"In every angel a devil smiles and in every devil an angel cries."

Anahi's life started off grand but ended up being the complete opposite.  All she wants is her freedom from her wicked family, but that's a lot harder in her reality.

Anahi literally runs into Bull in an attempt to escape, only to fail the attempt.  After that brief moment Bull wants answers and also to save the girl.  So Bull and some of his MC brothers head out to find the girl.

Anahi doesn't know to be thrilled or scared that the hunky MC man found her.  Part of her wants hope but the other part knows her bleak reality.

"You're not scared of me because when you look at me, you see yourself darlin'.  I saw you tonight, with that glass against that bitch's throat.  The gleam in your eye at the thought of sliding it across her silky skin."

With Anahi's crazy brother, she's forced into Bull's life, which is all right with him.

"You may be known to be an angel, sweetheart, but I see the devil,"

These two may be the complete opposite to each other but they just work.  They both have their devils within, which calls out to one another.

"You truly have no idea how amazing you are, and that is why I'm so attracted to you, Anahi.  Don't let your humbleness slip away from you."

Even though Anahi is so much younger than Bull you can't tell because they are the perfect match for each other.  Now after reading this one I need to read the rest of the series.  For MC books sometimes they are extremely dark or too light but I found with this book and the Sin City Outlaws with a nice amount of dark.  It was still gritty but not overwhelming from a world I know nothing about.   Hopefully there will be more from this series because I'm now hooked.

3 . 5 Gritty yet hopeful Thumbs up!
