Part 3 of a series
My Ballistic Review . . .
Finally Dax's story. We first meet Dax in Backfire as he's friends of Jase. We also get an introduction to Nicoleta as well when Tesarik takes her. This is the original start of Dax & Nicoleta's story. We also get a mention of it in Intrepid. Since this was a bit of back story in the other books, there has been more anticipation with Dax and Nicoleta.
Of course, Keri Lake delivers another great story full of layers, darkness and suspense. From the start of this book, Dax is still on the hunt for Nicoleta but finally we get to see more from Nicoleta's point of view and how she landed in this mess.
"People will misjudge you. But don't let them change who you are."
I was so shocked with Nicoleta's story and all the dimensions and elements to it. From the moment Dax lays eyes on Nicoleta she becomes his new addiction. Nicoleta's life is so complex and for her Dax is an anomaly. He has so much goodness in his dark soul within this dark world.
Keri has such a way writing that you can see the hope and light in the most darkest of situations. Everyone deserves a version of love and lightness and Keri always delivers with this concept. It's that the version of love and lightness is different than others would perceive it to be.
However, do we really know what is normal when it comes to love? No, we don't and this is part of the reason I love Keri so much, because she thinks outside the box and delivers beauty from unseemly.

If you are looking for light and fluffy, then this is not the story for you. But if you are looking for gritty, raw and real then this is it. I quite liked this book and I'm sad that this series is over. However, it ended well with closure. And now I can't wait for more from Keri and what world she will make up for the next book or series.
