My Sweet Ride Review . . .
It has been forever since I read a Cathryn Fox book, so when given the opportunity I jumped on it. Yes, this novella is part of a series but any of them can be read as a standalone. I started with this one and am now working my way through them. You can't go wrong with second chances with hunky cowboys. This was a sexy, short, sweet read.
Curtis 'Jag' Jagger and his friends have always wondered about what if with their past crushes or loves. So why not find them and bring them to the ranch to live out one week of fantasies. Each girl gets an invitation and anything can go once they arrive at the ranch.
For Jag, he has always had a thing for Alix Harris. Once he finds out that she's engaged he almost ends the pursuit. But once he realizes that the relationship is pretty toxic, he reaches out since you never know unless you try.
After receiving the invite Alix, wasn't sure if she was going to go, but once her life gets thrown in her face she runs to the ranch to escape. At first she tries to stay away but she can't turn down Jag for long, as most would have that problem. He's sweet, understanding, supportive, loyal, caring, and super sexy. Once Alix gives in, she goes all the way . . . until the dreaded martyr moment.
Thankfully Jag quickly puts an end to that nonsense and they give in to their potential HEA. Since it was a novella, it didn't have a huge amount of full substance but it had enough to feel their connection and root for them. It was sexy, sweet and quick. What a great combination. It was also a reminder for me to read more from Cathryn Fox.
