Him (Him #1)
They don’t play for the same team. Or do they?
Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wise-cracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were eighteen? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.
Ryan Wesley’s biggest regret is coaxing his very straight friend into a bet that pushed the boundaries of their relationship. Now, with their college teams set to face off at the national championship, he’ll finally get a chance to apologize. But all it takes is one look at his longtime crush, and the ache is stronger than ever.
Jamie has waited a long time for answers, but walks away with only more questions—can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it? When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend...and a big one to learn about himself.
Warning: contains sexual situations, skinnydipping, shenanigans in an SUV and proof that coming out to your family on social media is a dicey proposition.

My HIM Review . . .
So this book had so many elements that I love.
- MM
- Friends to lovers
- Sports romance
- Straight to gay
This book was a collaboration of two authors Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy. I have read Elle Kennedy before but this is my first Sarina Bowen book. WHAT???? I know, but it definitely won't be my last. I loved this book. Him is told in alternating POV's between Wes and Jamie.
Ryan (Wes) has been in love with his best friend Jamie forever but Jamie doesn't know Wes is gay. After one night of a bet taken too far Wes disappears from Jamie's life. Now many years later Wes is on the fast track to the NHL after college. Wes and Jamie reconnect playing rivals in their last college hockey game. Wes realizes that his mistake cost him his best friend. Now determined to reconnect he will sacrifice his heart to have his friend back.
Jamie never understood why Wes stopped talking to him. Sure they took one night too far but he could have said no. With one last summer before the pros he goes back to his favorite hockey camp to coach one more time. He loves this camp especially all the memories with Wes. So when Wes shows up to coach along side him, he's quick to forgive so he can get his best friend back.
The more time they spend the more Wes's unrequited feelings come to the surface, while at the same time Jamie gets more and more curious about all things Wes. This friendship is reunited but slowly turns into a delicious, steamy summer fling.

Why hasn't anyone ever told me the prostate was some kind of magical pleasure zone? Are there unicorns and orgasm fairies dancing around in there?
The closer the summer comes to the end the more they both are conflicted with their futures. But how can you have a gay partner and be part of the NHL? Is that dream even possible? The beautiful thing about this story is the pure innocent, raw and pure love between these two. Is just other circumstances that get in their way.
I loved this collaboration of authors. I think they did a great job making a beautiful story. This was such a great story from beginning to end. The only thing that I'm bothered by is that fact that I had this on my TBR list forever and I'm mad that I didn't read this book sooner.
5 Friends to lovers thumbs up!

(Him #2)
Can your favorite hockey players finish their first season together undefeated?
Five months in, NHL forward Ryan Wesley is having a record-breaking rookie season. He's living his dream of playing pro hockey and coming home every night to the man he loves–Jamie Canning, his longtime best friend turned boyfriend. There's just one problem: the most important relationship of his life is one he needs to keep hidden, or else face a media storm that will eclipse his success on the ice.
Jamie loves Wes. He really, truly does. But hiding sucks. It's not the life Jamie envisioned for himself, and the strain of keeping their secret is taking its toll. It doesn't help that his new job isn't going as smoothly as he'd hoped, but he knows he can power through it as long as he has Wes. At least apartment 10B is their retreat, where they can always be themselves.
Or can they? When Wes's nosiest teammate moves in upstairs, the threads of their carefully woven lie begin to unravel. With the outside world determined to take its best shot at them, can Wes and Jamie develop major-league relationship skills on the fly?
Warning: contains sexual situations, a vibrating chair, long-distance sexytimes, and proof that hockey players look hot in any shade of green.

My US Review . . .
Gah! I absolutely fell in love with Wes and Jamie in Him, so I was ecstatic for the opportunity to be able to review this book. *Squee*
After a tumultuous journey Jamie and Wes find themselves in love and living together. At this point we expect to find their HEA. But that's not easy when you have to keep your relationship secret. The original goal was to keep their relationship a secret while Wes finishes his rookie year.
What they didn't prepare for was the stress that this secret was going to cause. Especially when one of Wes's teammates moves into the same building causing tons of conflict between these two.
"Fucking hell, Canning, I fucking love you so fucking much."
Jamie and Wes connection is so honest and so strong but keeping it secret is slowly ruining them. They're trying to make it work but it's too difficult. When all of a sudden Jamie's health is at risk, it causes Wes to have to make a choice, between hockey and his love for Jamie. Or can he have both?
"If being queer means skating like Ryan Wesley, I'm going to have to encourage the rest of my players to give it a whirl."
Now that things are out in the open it should make things easier but is the damage to big to repair? Gah! I adored this story. I loved Jamie and Wes and I loved finishing their story but I will admit that I didn't love this book as much as Him but it is was still great. I think with Him there was so much unexpected and their relationship was pure love and happiness. Here we already have a basis of these two, so the newness is faded a bit while we watch them struggle with their relationship, causing me to a bit less connected. The key word was bit as I still adored this book.
Thank you ladies for such a great story. I absolutely fell in love with Jamie and Wes.
4. 5 Jamie and Wes loving thumbs up!
