Madame X (Madame X #1)

by

Madame X invites you to test the limits of control in this provocative new
novel from New York Times bestselling author Jasinda Wilder.

My name is Madame X.
I’m the best at what I do.
And you’d do well to follow my rules...

Hired to transform the uncultured, inept sons of the wealthy and powerful into decisive, confident men, Madame X is a master of the art of control. With a single glance she can cut you down to nothing, or make you feel like a king.

But there is only one man who can claim her body—and her soul.

Undone time and again by his exquisite dominance, X craves and fears his desire in equal measure. And while she longs for a different path, X has never known anything or anyone else—until now...

My Madame X Review  . . .

WOW! This book was refreshing, dark and different.  It didn't follow the typical cookie cutter formula we see too often.  It was just different and right, which made it so much more intriguing.

" . . . Confidence is sexy.  True arrogance is not."

Madame X is a woman whom makes boys into men.  She is what she knows.  But that knowledge is limited to her.  She does what she's told.  She's knows only enough to keep her there.  But she's owes it to him.  Or does she?

A lady does not ever show weakness.  Chin up, I'd say.  Back straight.  Find your dignity, put it on like a suit of armor.

Her world is basically 3500 sq ft.  She stays put as the outside is scary and unknown.  She knows she's safe with him, because that's what she's been told.  Then a chance meeting in the outside, changes her world.  A world she now begins to questions.

I fear him, yet I need him.  And I hate myself for it.

Choices can mean freedom and safety.  What would you choose?

Argh!  I would have made such a different choice, but thankfully there are two more books, so there is room for her to change her mind.   Did I like this book?  Hell, yeah!  Did I like the ending?  Yes and no, as cliff hangers gut me, and now we have to wait. :( Did I like the concept of the book?  Yes, it was such a nice change of pace with how it was set up and written. So refreshing.  I love authors who can think outside the box and make something spectacular.  Can't wait for book two where X can maybe get some answers to a very unknown world.

4.5 Spectacular Thumbs up!
