My Strange Bedfellows Review . . .
Normally with Cardeno C. the stories start slow then the steam or relationship builds up. So, when I started my walk listening to this audiobook I barely made it around the corner of my block before I started to blush. I don't know why, but when I listen to audio books and there's a steamy part I always think that there is a beacon around me broadcasting that 'yes I am a perv and yes I am listening to it basically soft port right now'. LOL I never find this with reading books in public only audio.
After the shock of the two main characters immediately getting down to business, you start to fall for Ford and Trevor. These two they can't be any more opposite then they are. Ford's republican and a closet gay for the obvious reasons in this political world. Trevor's not only a democrat but the son of the President of the United States. He's also very out and proud, which seems to benefit his parents political campaign.
Ford tries to pretend that he's straight but at times has to give in to his true nature. One night at a bar, he willingly goes home with someone only to be very shocked when he realizes that he knows his new partner. For the first time Ford wants more but can being with Trevor be worth the risk of him losing everything he has been bred for.
Ford lives and breathes the world of politics where Trevor hates that world and tries to stay as far away from it as possible.
Trevor and Ford's connection is instant and super sweet. I loved the growth of these two. This relationship starts as fun and a bit forbidden but grows into so much more. They both grow as individuals and together they become unstoppable and quite the pair.
It's not an easy journey for them but they find a world of balance and compromise that works for them, where some others outside of their world aren't as tolerable.
This book was fun, sweet and steamy. This is definitely a book that I will eventually read on my kindle, as I think I would love it in written form as well as audio.
I'm such a fan of Cardeno C. and this was another great book to adore that C.C has written.
