Promised (One Night #1)
Livy notices him the moment he walks into the coffee shop. He's heart-stoppingly stunning, with a blue-eyed gaze so piercing she's almost too distracted to take his order. All he wants is one night to worship her. No feelings, no commitment, nothing but pleasure. He's passionate but emotionless. Yet the fascination is so powerful, Livy can't deny him... or herself.
M awakens something in Livy, something deep and addictive that she never knew existed -- and that she fears only he can satisfy. But she senses that behind the fast cars, fancy suits, and posh apartment, he's aching inside. To have him, body and soul, she'll have to brave his dark secrets. Delving into his world and breaking down his defenses become her obsession - an obsession that could shatter her heart beyond repair..

My One Night Promised Review ...
I first started off reading this book on my kindle, but the prologue confused me a bit for how the book was to unfold. Which left me putting the book on hold as it didn't ensnare me in from the beginning. Since I wanted to get books off my TBR and review list, I decided to try it in audio form instead. I have to admit it completely changed the experience for it.
To start with, Edita Brychta the narrator was awesome and her voice and narration kept me engaged the whole way through. It took awhile for the prologue to make sense, but once it did all the pieces started to come together and we were left with two broken souls just wanting and needing love.
Livy's a young woman who's controlled by her fear of her past. She's comfortable in her very mundane life, where she takes care of her grandmother and goes to work. One day at work, a mysterious man comes in and shakes her foundation, but with this man Livy is way out of her element.
Miller, may not be happy with his life, but he does what he needs to do to survive, seeing Livy for the first time makes him want more. However, he knows that he can't have her for more than one night.
For Miller, Livy was to be a one night escape, instead she turned his world around.
Miller
& Livy balanced each other out, even though Miller started as an
arse but ended up endearing himself to me as the book went on. Both
had so many facets to them that it had me rooting for them to figure
their shit out.
Their passion was strong and the main bond within this couple, but the more layers that were taking off, the more feelings that were brought to the surface for this unlikely duo.
Just as we think this duo is going to find their happily ever after, secrets are revealed causing more hurt than good. As they both try to wade through this new truth both of their pasts collide with the present, leaving us wanting more when we're left with a bit of a cliffhanger.
Can't wait to continue with this series and find out what happens with Livy and Miller and all their pasts and truths.
Denied (One Night #2)
The passion that burned between Livy and Miller in One Night: Promised may end up destroying them both in this new novel of overwhelming desire and shocking discoveries...

My One Night Denied Review . . .
In this book we start off with more from William, then go to how Livy's dealing with her world imploding, where it comes to Miller Hart. At this time Livy's confused with the reality of the situation and her feelings for Miller, as well as her past. I tried to read the eARC but with this series I prefer the audible version for some reason it had me more engaged then the print version. I think it may be the narration of Edita Brychta that really makes the story.
In the first book I didn't mind so much when Livy was making some bad judgements because she was young and in way over her head, but in this book her errors and bad choices were starting to get a bit trying a times.
During her wallowing she leans on Gregory more while at the same time William starts to be more present in her life. Thankfully the best part of this book/series is Nan. She absolutely makes the story as she's the glue throughout. With this book we get more of Livy's past from William and the story behind her absent mother.
It takes a bit for Livy to get past her issues and let Miller back in, but with Miller comes a whole bunch of more issues where it comes to his past and his present. As Miller is trying to find a way that he can break free, Livy does nothing but make matters worse with her shit decision making and impulsive reactions.
Miller and Livy are explosive together and Miller is nothing but sweet even with his not so endearing qualities. However, even though Miller will have nothing but Livy at times I wished he could do better. Harsh I know. I did like Livy but she doesn't always bring out the best in people. Without a solution these two are forced to run in order to have any HEA but will their pasts break them or free them

My One Night Unveiled Review . . .
Away from the chaos Miller and Livy are doing okay but they can't hide forever. With a turn of events Livy and Miller are forced to come back home where not only Miller's past is waiting but so is Livy's.
In this book I fell more and more for Miller but less and less with Livy. Don't get me wrong I understood why she acts they way she does but her repetitive impulsive actions caused me to think of her more as a daft twat then a strong heroine.
As Livy makes more poor choices, Miller is forced to act in the most harshest way to protect them. When Miller is pushed to the brink, Livy finally gets the back bone that Miller always said was there, but for me it was a little too late for me to fully embrace her at this point.
As Miller is faced with difficult tasks, Livy's past collides with her present. With this part I liked finding out all the missing pieces even though I had figured them out but I felt it took three books to get to this point but it all wrapped up too quickly at the most inconvenient time.
Did I like this series? Yes, but its not my favorite. I like so many elements about I disliked as many which made me like it but not love it. Are Miller and Livy good together? Yes, but they would have been better if Livy wasn't so daft at times. Did I like the ending? Yes. Favorite part? Nan, hands down. If there was more from this series, would I read more? Yes, as I was invested with the characters. Would I read more from this author? Yes.
3 About time thumbs up!
