Feel the Rush (Hard Feelings #2)

by
The New York Times bestselling author of The Valentine’s Arrangement continues her sizzling series with a new novel of a plan that goes awry—in the arms of a soldier…

Picking the wrong men is a talent Meagan Mitchell has perfected. She’s sweet, confident, beautiful—and single. With her thirtieth birthday sneaking up on her, she needs a new plan. No more Mr. Wrongs or Mr. Bads, it’s time to find Mr. Safe…

Army Captain, Reed Porter, lives for the thrill—he’s an Airborne Jumpmaster with a rush addiction. He’s sexy and playful, and he quickly tempts Meagan with his rich Southern drawl and sinful looks. But slowing down and settling down are not in his agenda, making him exactly the type of man Meagan wants to avoid…

As their undeniable attraction heats up, Meagan has to decide if she’s willing to risk everything on a chance at love with a reckless charmer. Is she brave enough to bet her future—and her heart—on Mr. Thrill? Or will Reed finally learn that the feeling of a safe landing is just as addicting as the rush of the fall?

My Review...

This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.  In The Valentine's Arrangement we briefly meet Meagan.  In Feel the Rush we get to know her.  For Meagan she has knack at picking the wrong guy.

Meagan is tired of one night stands and the Mr. Wrongs, and Mr. Bads so she wants to settle on Mr. Safe.  To do this she starts fresh when she follows her best friend and runs into another Mr. NOT Safe but Mr. Tempting only to have the reality that she has already had Mr. Tempting which solidifies that he is so not Mr. Safe.

Reed loves the rush.  He needs it to make him feel something because love and happiness are two things he doesn't think he deserves. One night Reed is walking the dog when he meets Meagan who intrigues him to wanting more.  Only to realize that he has already had her and now he wants to make sure he doesn't let her go again.

Even though Reed wants Meagan he has a butt load of demons that plague him.  As Reed is forced to deal with him it causes stress for him and Meagan.

With Meagan there is a reason she always picks the unattainable because it is her protective mechanism where she can't get hurt.  With Reed he gets past her guard then she starts to self sabotage (Which is where I wanted to throttle her during this phase) instead of feeling the rush and leaping by letting her guard down and letting love in.

Once she gets her head out of her ass they finally  get to love and be loved and find the happiness they both deserve.  I really did like Reed and Meagan.  I would have loved her more but the copious amounts of self sabotaging left me not loving her as much but Reed I had nothing but love for him and my heart broke for the baggage he was caring around.

Sweet love story about love and second chances. Great NA Series!

4 Felt the rush thumbs up!
