My Review...
I absolutely loved the first book When You're Ready so I was ecstatic to read this one and find out what happens with Leah and Declan. Never Been Ready is book two in this series but can be read as a stand alone book. I liked that I read book first because it gave me more depth on Leah.
Here we find out what is behind Leah's big personality. Leah has not had a rainbow and unicorns past but she has settled for what is. Even though her best friend has been lucky in love twice Leah knows its not worth it and doesn't believe there is anyone worth her heart.
Declan has been once burnt in the love department so he takes on the love em' and leave em' lifestyle.
Six months later after Declan and Leah have a one night stand they can't stop thinking about each other. As Declan comes back to town they both agree to have a fling to get each other out of their system only to find so much more.
As the book starts the is a part where I thought 'Well that's random. How is this necessary to the story' then as the book progresses that bit of random makes a whole bunch of sense and then changed the book entirely. I loved it!
The further the relationship progresses from sex to feelings both Leah and Declan are forced to deal with their pasts but it only strengthens their new bond. The progression of Declan being a bit of an ass to one of the sweetest things swells up my heart just thinking about it.

I don't want to say too much as it will ruin the surprise of the book but what I can say is I loved it!"Shit. I'm going to cry again. Why do I cry so much around you?" "I don't know, but I'll hold you every time you do."
This is such a great series. Well written with a good balance of emotions, angst and intrigue with story lines that are outside the box of normal romance fiction. J.L. Berg is becoming one of my favorite authors for sure."You are the only woman I want. You and I are real. I could do a hundred scenes like this, and none of them would ever change the way I feel about you. You're it for me. I love you, Leah - only and always you."
