"Daddy" is not a title Rue Murray wanted, but he never thought he'd have sex with a woman either. Now he's the unwitting father of a newborn named Alice. Between bartending and cosmetology school, Rue doesn't have time for babies, but he can't give her up. What Rue needs is a babysitter, and he's running out of options. He's on the verge of quitting school to watch Alice himself when he remembers his reclusive new neighbor, Erik. Erik Van Nuys is a sci-fi novelist with anxiety issues to spare. He doesn't like people in general, and he likes babies even less. Still, with his royalties dwindling, he could use the extra cash. Reluctantly, he takes on the role of manny-and even more reluctantly, he finds himself falling for Alice and her flamboyant father. Rue and Erik are as different as two people can be, and Alice is the unlikeliest of babies, but Rue has never been happier than when Alice and Erik are by his side. At least, not until he receives an offer that puts all his dreams within reach and he's forced to choose: the future he's always wanted, or the family he thought he never did

My Review...

Well.....I liked the story and the personality of the characters. I loved how Alice brought everyone together. I also loved the unconventional family that she brought together.

My only beef and it is only me because this is just a personal preference is that when I read I like more masculine leads with m/m. Rue and Erik were not my normal leads choice but the story was still sweet and I will read the next one to find out what happens next.

I did love the quirkiness of Erik and how he over came so many challenges to finally be free of his own demons so he could find love.

She's sworn off weddings…

After two failed relationships and six stints as a bridesmaid, Stephanie Ludlow is convinced she’s man-poison. So when her hormones point due south to her sexy—but not so charming—new landlord, she can't help the sparks that fly. It’s a good thing she’s declared a strict "no sex" policy, because Mike Brubaker might as well have “it’s not happening” tattooed across his delectable chest.

He's sworn off love…

Spurned single dad Mike has learned the hard way women are the source of all evil and should be avoided at any cost. And that definitely includes his gorgeous new tenant. But when they're thrown together in the wedding party from hell, both will stop at nothing to fight the heat building between them. Giving in is not an option for either of them.

May the best man—or woman—win.

My Review...

I was looking for a fun, loving quick read and this filled the bill nicely.  The typical story of two people refusing to be in a relationship and bam find one another and fall in love but I still liked it.
It warmed my heart. For Mike and Stephanie love will always sneak up on you when you least expect it.

There were some great supporting characters in this book which helped make the story. It was a cute read.  I really liked the ending of the book

I am torn between 3 and 4 thumbs up but hey since it is the end of summer lets give it 4.

My Review...

I thought this book was great! It was a sweet read with some predictability but a great read.

Claire has had some tough times being a victim but once she meets Josh and finds out what true love is she becomes a survivor.

Josh is awesome and I think he will have to be one of my book boyfriends one Monday. The locations in this book make you want to visit those places and chase dragons and sunsets.

This book was well written. I am a super big fan of the hollywood/celebrity type books and this was one of the good ones.

About IF I WERE YOU…

How it began…

One day I was a high school teacher on summer break, leading a relatively uneventful but happy life. Or so I told myself. Later, I’d question that, as I would question pretty much everything I knew about me, my relationships, and my desires. It all began when my neighbor thrust a key to a storage unit at me. She’d bought it to make extra money after watching some storage auction show. Now she was on her way to the airport to elope with a man she barely knew, and she needed me to clear out the unit before the lease expires.

Soon, I was standing inside a small room that held the intimate details of another woman’s life, feeling uncomfortable, as if I was invading her privacy. Why had she let these items so neatly packed, possessions that she clearly cared about deeply, be lost at an auction? Driven to find out by some unnamed force, I began to dig, to discover this woman’s life, and yes, read her journals—-dark, erotic journals that I had no business reading. Once I started, I couldn’t stop. I read on obsessively, living out fantasies through her words that I’d never dare experience on my own, compelled by the three men in her life, none of whom had names. I read onward until the last terrifying dark entry left me certain that something had happened to this woman. I had to find her and be sure she was okay.
Before long, I was taking her job for the summer at the art gallery, living her life, and she was nowhere to be found. I was becoming someone I didn’t know. I was becoming her.

The dark, passion it becomes…

Now, I am working at a prestigious gallery, where I have always dreamed of being, and I’ve been delivered to the doorstep of several men, all of which I envision as one I’ve read about in the journal. But there is one man that will call to me, that will awaken me in ways I never believed possible. That man is the ruggedly sexy artist, Chris Merit, who wants to paint me. He is rich and famous, and dark in ways I shouldn’t find intriguing, but I do. I so do. I don’t understand why his dark side appeals to me, but the attraction between us is rich with velvety promises of satisfaction. Chris is dark, and so are his desires, but I cannot turn away. He is damaged beneath his confident good looks and need for control, and in some way, I feel he needs me. I need him.
All I know for certain is that he knows me like I don’t even know me, and he says I know him. Still, I keep asking myself — do I know him? Did he know her, the journal writer, and where is she? And why doesn’t it seem to matter anymore? There is just him and me, and the burn for more.

My Review...

First off this book was fan-friggin-tastic! I loved it from the very beginning. It kept you in suspense from the beginning to the end especially with the crazy cliff hanger and I can't wait for the next one to come out.

Through out the whole book it keeps you guessing of who the mystery man is. Of course there are some yummy broken dominant males.

I love the connection between Chris and Sara. It was hot and lustful with the right amount of deepness and chemistry.

Oh so many twists and turns I have not a hot clue of who is the mystery male there are so many options to choose from.

The book was well written and I definitely recommend this book because it has the right amount of passion, intrigue and drama.

A brash single dad and a beautiful, ambitious cooking teacher follow the recipe for romance in this delectable treat from beloved author Sally Goldenbaum.

The first time they met, Pete Webster had been the blind date from hell. Ellie Livingston hoped never to see him again. Now Pete’s a student in the cooking class she’s designed just for men, and he looks good enough to eat! But Ellie’s afraid that a relationship is off the table: Falling for a man with kids—no matter how adorable—would simply be biting off more than she can chew.

Since his wife left him, Pete has learned that his gourmet cuisine—like his specialty, peanut butter and egg sandwiches—just won’t cut it for two growing children. He’s also learned not to trust beautiful women. But Ellie, with her sparkling passion and spicy personality, is for real, even if she doesn’t see him the same way. Now it’s up to Pete to go off the lesson plan and cook up a little trouble—in the kitchen and the bedroom.

My Review....

It was a cute read. Lots of potential.

In the book you did feel the love growing but for me there was quite a lot of corny lines which took away from the love story. Once you get past that you fall in love with Pete, Lucy and P.J. I was little frustrated with Ellie but was glad that she came around because there is always a way to balance career and love.

The were parts that I liked and some that fell a bit flat so it is hard for me to put a full number on it but after lots of thought I think I will give it 3 thumbs up!

Sophomore year broke Clementine Williams’ heart. She fell for her best friend’s boyfriend and long story short: he’s excused, but Clem is vilified and she heads into summer with zero social life.

Enter her parents’ plan to spend the summer on their sailboat. Normally the idea of being stuck on a tiny boat with her parents and little sister would make Clem break out in hives, but floating away sounds pretty good right now.

Then she meets James at one of their first stops along the river. He and his dad are sailing for the summer and he’s just the distraction Clem needs. Can he break down Clem’s walls and heal her broken heart?

Told in alternating chapters that chronicle the year that broke Clem’s heart and the summer that healed it, Unbreak My Heart is a wonderful dual love story that fans of Sarah Dessen, Deb Caletti, and Susane Colasanti will flock to.

My Review....

Ah a book on falling in love in all the wrong places. It is so sad when you fall in love when you can't help it but the pressures of being a teen weigh you down. I thought this book was beautifully told and Clem's story is a good one.

So often we fall in love with the contentment or the idea of being in love but until you REALLY find love and are truly happy is when you see the difference. Thank goodness for James for helping her see the difference.

It is hard when you hurt your friends especially when you can't control on who you fall for but is heartbreaking when your TRUE friends can't even ask for you side of the story and cast you out. There is always two sides to every story it is just too bad that a lot of people only take the time to listen to one.

On the boat the love of Clem's family and James family brings joy to my heart. I really liked this story and I also hope there is a sequel because I would love to find out what happens with James and Clem as well as what happens in Clem's senior year.

My Review...

After I read Castles on the Sand I had to read more of E.M. Tippetts read so I bought this book and was super excited with the choice.

Eliza's journey of finding what is right for her is a good journey. It is hard to see something that is great when it is right in front of you especially when we have pressures of what if's, social media and others expectations to help confuse us.

Once Eliza gets to England you truly start to like her. At first I thought I wanted her to be with Colin but in the end I was so happy with her choice of Len. I was shocked to find out the truth of Nora but thought with Eliza's journey through her art was thought provoking and beautiful.  Sometimes it is true that we want to see a different story of reality to give us some peace.

Eliza's realizations of thoughts, meanings and family are beautifully told.

4 thumbs up for this story!
