Beck (Corps Security #3) - #review

Beck (Corps Security #3)

I’ve always been good at wearing masks. Not letting anyone see the real me. I’m content being the happy-go-lucky best friend. The strong willed boss. The independent woman who doesn’t need a man.

But the truth is I’m just as broken as the rest of you. I’m terrified that all it will take is one person to make all my carefully constructed walls crumble into fine dust. So I guard my heart with everything I have. Determined to never let anyone get close enough to hurt me again.

All is perfect until HE walks into my life. No… he doesn’t just walk. He struts his good-looking, sex-oozing self right into my space and demands that I see HIM. Making me want what I know I can’t have.

So I did the only thing I know how to do.
I run.
But he just won’t let me go.

The second I see her, I know she will be mine. I see past the gorgeous smiles and heart-stopping laughter. I see HER. She doesn’t want me to know her secrets or the past that haunts her, but I make it my mission to find out.

To make her mine.

She can run all she wants, but it will never be far enough to stop me from coming after her.
She’s it for me and she knows it.
She’s just too scared to admit it

My Review...

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this book.  Before as I wasn't a huge fan of Dee and especially how she treated Beck with her on and off wishy washy ways.

Now, I'm mad at myself that I didn't see Dee's struggles and for quickly judging her.  How did Izzy and Greg not see as well.  But thank goodness for Beck with him there would have been only dark.

Beck is the light, the beacon, the hope for Dee.  He fought for her when no one would and when she couldn't. This story broke my heart.  Dee's struggles are heartbreaking and you wish her nothing but ease after finally hearing the truth to her reality but real life is a bitch sometimes and Dee is still knee deep in shit but this time she finally realizes that she has help in the form of one sexy ass Alpha bad ass...Beck.

Once Dee starts talking the truth and letting the light in she starts to find her inner strength and moves forward and gets stronger and stronger everyday which is really important especially at the 85% of the book when I felt like my world stopped.

However, with this tragedy Dee powers through and Beck by her side but new truths come to the surface for the others and some can't deal with them so they run.  I can NOT wait to see what happens in the next few books.

Harper Sloan knows how to right amazing Alpha men with the softest hearts.

With Beck's heart and caring ways he may be my fave so far in this group.  Keep your eyes for future Book Boyfriend Mondays as Beck will be making an appearance.

4.5 Light within the Dark Thumbs up!
