Spin Off Series. Part 1 in a new series
My Bringing Home the Bad Boy Review ...
This is my first Jessica Lemmon book and it definitely won't be my last. This book is a spin off series from the Love in the Balance Series. Here we have Evan Downey who is a widow and now a single father needing to start over and get away from his ghosts. Knowing exactly where to go he returns to be close to his late wife's best friend and her family. To a place where it all began and he first met his late wife Rae and her friend Charlotte (Charlie).
When Charlie was 15 years old she had a big crush on Evan Downey but he didn't notice her after he laid eyes on her best friend Rae. Knowing she didn't have a chance she supported this union and was super happy for her friends especially when they welcomed Lyon their son into this world but one night 4 years ago everyone lost something huge, a friend, a mom, a wife and a daughter in one fell swoop and now they're still trying to cope and move on.
Thankfully Evan and Lyon are coming back so she can help take care of them after a vow she gave Rae. What she didn't expect was for it to blossom into a relationship. Evan has always loved Charlie as a friend but all of a sudden he started to see her in a different way and realized that he also needs her as well. He loved Rae with everything and didn't think he could move on until Charlie, where for the first time he feels a bit of peace since the loss of Rae.
Charlie. In his peripheral for years, now front and center.
It's easy to fold Charlie into the mix but the real battle comes from Charlie's insecurities and doubts that put a kink into the plan for them all to have their HEA.
"I swear to you, I'm going to find Russell and put one dent in his fancy-ass car for every wrong thing he said to you make you this insecure."
Evan was a great alpha male bad boy. Lyon steals your heart and once Charlie gets out of her head their new family is breathtaking and whole. I can't wait to read more from this series and this author.
4 Bad Boy thumbs up!
