My Ready to Wed Review ...

So, I'm not obsessed with weddings nor have I have ever been which might make me a rarity for some females but sadly because of this I had a hard time relating to the story.  However, many of the woman I know are all about love and weddings so I could see this book tempting their palates.

Dakota Haifax is a wedding planner in Vegas and is about to have her own wedding until her fiance jilts her at the alter.
Because silly me, when he asked me to marry him, I thought he'd meant it.
After Grant her fiance leaves her, she has to try and move forward without her wedding and love and keep her business successful. Dakota's now determined to focus on her business but that's interupted when her ex comes back claiming he made a mistake and gives her a decent explanation.  While at the same time her old best friend from the past Brendan West comes back stirring up her world.

That should be enough to keep her vulnerable independence shaky now add in a jealous reporter making all kinds of havoc for her.  With all this Dakota's made to face her own dreams, demons and desires and figure out what she needs and wants.  While she's trying to figure this out she moves in with her old friend who happened to just move back to Vegas.

Even though she's still contemplating the 'what if' of Grant she's also having all kinds of new feelings and sensations with Brendan that she can't control.

Brendan and Dakota finally chose to act on these new feelings, while she deals with her own issues as well as her business.

For Dakota, it isn't just about weddings and love but also wanting something so much, since she never had it, with her mom abdandoning her when she was young.  Thanks to her father and best friend she's what she is and survived, but when her best friend moved she changed and became unilaterally focused on relationships and love.
"... But I don't want you hurt, kid.  Like I said, you always jump in so fast.  One minute you love a guy, the next the fire department's coming to undo the damage of your séance."
For Dakota, she has always been searching for love but what she didn't realize was that she always had it.   This was a sweet book and I find that Cindi Madsen's writing always engages me, even though I didn't fully relate to this heroine her books are always sweet and mostly pretty wholesome.

3 Sweet thumbs up!
