My Review...

So happy with this book. It was such a breath of fresh air to read a contemporary romance without all the relationship angst and insecurities. Instead the relationship blossomed and strengthened while they had to deal with outside forces out of their control.

It all starts with Katie just about to be burned alive until a mysterious blue eyed savior comes in saves the day.

For Holt who saves people from fires every day shouldn't be drawn to his victims but something about Katie couldn't keep him away.
"How about this? he said, leaning down so his lips brushed my jaw. The stubble on his face tickled my chin. "Because even in the center of a blazing fire, my body reacted to you. Because seeing you so small and helpless in a hospital bed twisted my guts.  Because the day I walked into your room and those stormy eyes landed on mine, I felt like there was something tethering us together. Or maybe it was because of the way you sighed and leaned into my chest the night I carried you to my bed. Your scent lingers on my sheets, Katie."
Once Katie starts to recover from the incident her reality that she doesn't have anyone hinders her release until Holt steps up again and lets her stay with him which is the gateway for their relationship to begin.

Even though Katie is under attack the bond between the two continues to grow which causes a new kind of fire that shouldn't be put out.
"...I'm going to rip my shirt off you right here and do things to your body that will echo through your limbs long after I stop touching you."
Even though their relationship progresses quickly it just felt right.  This story had a perfect combo of drama, suspense, passion and love.

My Review...

Cambria has done it again with another great story without all the annoying angst and miscommunication instead it's a story about purely love with a shitload of drama thrown in.

Rumors can hurt. We sometimes forget the power of words can have.

For Harlow McAlister she has had strong virtues and fights for what is right and won't let people get her down. For her life's a bitch and she is desperate to move forward and not have to go back to her po dank town and I told you so family instead she decides to become a stripper to better support her self.
"So, Harlow. Why do you want to be a stripper?" "Well, it's my lifelong dream," I said, pressing a hand to my chest batting my eyes.  "Uh-huh," he said as the bartender set a drink in front of him. He picked it up and took a sip, studying me over the rim of the glass.  I sighed. "I need the money."  He nodded. "Do you have experience?" "Well, no. But I undress myself every day, and that seems to be the most important thing I need to know."  He laughed again. "I like you."

She still struggles with her personal choices and can't fully commit to stripping so she becomes a bit of a tease but she doesn't want to share her body until she meets the heartthrob Cameron Malone who steals her heart and mine.

Cameron was always a player until Harlow walked in his doors and then the gloves were off and he fought for what he wanted....Harlow's heart.

Great book, amazing series

Tempt (Take It Off #3)

by
**This is a new adult contemporary novel and contains sexual content and graphic language. It is not intended for young adult readers.***

Stranded and alone with not one, but two wickedly enticing men.

Ava arrives at the airport, expecting to board a commercial flight to Puerto Rico. But a plane ticket isn’t waiting for her. Instead, she finds a guy with dark curly hair wearing seriously ratty jeans and holding a sign with her name on it.

He may not look like a pilot, but he is. And he’s her ride.

So now it’s just Nash and her on a tiny tin can of a plane flying over the Atlantic. When a thunderstorm comes out of nowhere, it proves to be too much for the little aircraft.

Ava and Nash plunge from the sky and end up on an uncharted deserted island.

Stranded.

As if that isn’t bad enough, Ava starts to desire more than just rescue—hunger for more than food. Nash is only too happy to oblige… but it seems they might not be as alone as they thought.

And Nash might have some competition in claiming Ava’s body… and her heart.

My Review...

So another great book but with a twist. Right from the start you fall in love with Nash and then when he tries to save her while whispering to her in Spanish your heart melts a bit.

Loved the idea of this book but there were a few things that weren't for me. Part of it was my logical brain not computing with the situation. Like what about toothpaste? There was a lot of kissing with no toothpaste and where are these infamous birth control pills?? Sometimes when things aren't logical my brain rejects the notion.

With Ava I wanted her to be so enthralled with Nash and I didn't love the Duke story so much. I get why it was there and for others they will love it but it just wasn't for me.

In the end, loved Nash, love the idea of the story, love this series, this one just wasn't my fave out of the three so far and I can't friggin wait for November when text comes out! *squee*
