Misbehaving (Sea Breeze #6)

by

An unexpected affair leads to mind-blowing harmony in this Sea Breeze novel from New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines.

Jason is sick of living in his rock star brother’s shadow. So when he ships off to Sea Breeze, Alabama, he’s looking for a much deserved escape and a chance to blow off some envious steam. Falling for the local bad girl was definitely not the plan. But as the new duo enjoys some naughty fun in the Alabama sun, Jason learns that even though Jax is the musician in the family, he’s not the only brother who can rock someone’s world.

My Misbehaving Review ...

When I first went on my reading exploration I came across Abbi Glines and fell in love with her writing almost to the point of overdosing.  As the years went by more and more authors tickled my fancy and I put Abbi on the shelf for a bit.  Then the other day I was looking at my kindle realizing I had been approved to read this book via edelweiss but before I read this I wanted to read Sometimes it Lasts first (which I loved by the way) and then I jumped right into Misbehaving and that is where I screwed up because after overdosing on Abbi I realized that I can't read her books back to back because they become to similar then the second book I read looses their magic.  I did like Misbehaving but I would have loved it so much more if I had space between reading two Abbi Glines books.  My mistake and I will remember that for the next time.

I love Abbi's NA writing but this series is very similar from book to book, so for me they need to be spaced out to read to appreciate the story properly.  In Misbehaving we have Jason Stone the brother to the famous Jax Stone and Jess the tough girl who is really just a insecure with a tough cover.  When I read that she was going to be a kick ass heroine I was excited as those are some of my favorite but as I was reading it I didn't find her as strong as I would have liked.  Instead she came across more weak because her deflection of who she really was projected too strong.  She uses sex and crass to look strong but instead she is just a girl who wants to be loved and feel worthy.   When I think of a kick ass heroine that is not the character that comes to mind for me.  However, I still liked her I was just expecting something different.

With this you have two people who are drawn to one another thinking they can just have a fling and move on, only to find out that nope that are under each other's skin too much just to let go.  I did like Jess and Jason together but I just didn't feel their love.  They had more sexual chemistry then deep emotions.  I liked this story I just didn't love the story. I also felt the end a bit anti-climatic with in regards to the Stone's bitch of a mother. Through out the book it had moments of 'meh' mixed in with moments of yeah!.  By the end of it I am excited to continue with this series but just not right away.

3 Not So Misbehaving Thumbs up!
