No Such Thing (Belonging #1)
by
A.M. Arthur (Goodreads Author)
Twenty-two-year-old Alessandro Silva knows that returning to tiny Perch Creek to help his foster mother was the right thing to do. With no degree and a delinquent's reputation, he's lucky to have landed a job waiting tables. But not everyone is happy he's back, and the only thing keeping his move home from being a total bust is his boss's hot brother.
Jaime Winters spent most of his life watching the world go by, first from a series of hospitals and then from behind big stacks of textbooks. Studying is easier than facing the fact that years of heart failure means he's still a virgin at twenty-three. Until the new waiter in his sister's diner awakens desires he'd long ago given up on.
The last thing Alessandro wants is to fall for someone as fragile as Jaime. And Jaime may have a new heart, but he's scared of what giving it to another person would mean. Their no-strings-attached, instructional approach to sex keeps emotion safely at bay, until a secret from Alessandro's past forces them to confront their feelings in the present…

My No Such Thing Review...
This was my first foray into the writing of A.M. Arthur and I loved it!
In this book we have reformed bad boy Alessandro and virginal Jaime who seem like an odd pair but are perfectly matched. Alessandro is forced to come back home after the death of his foster dad to help out with his foster family.
As Alessandro is home, he needs a job where he gets one at the local bakery coffee shop. What he didn't expect was to find a sweet piece for himself there as well.
Jaime has been a bit sheltered after some health issues but now that he's back to health he likes to help out his sister where he meets Alessandro at the bakery. Because Jaime was sick he lost out on a lot of experiences which makes him sweetly naive and causes him not to realize that Alessandro is interested in him.

Alesssandro and Jaime are happy with this new connection but not everybody in this small town is as happy with this union. As they find their way together they have to fight prejudice and their pasts to find their HEA.
Great Book! Heartwarming story about second chances and love when you least expect it.
4 Sweet Thumbs up!

Ezra is drawn to Donner but after being hurt before he's quite gun shy to try again, but Donner weasels his way in. With the help of his friends Alessandro and Jaime their friendships start to form a new pseudo family.
Donner and Ezra are perfect for each other and their drama comes from within but so worth it in the end for this unlikely duo.

A.M. Arthur (Goodreads Author)
Three months after his rescue from an abusive boyfriend, twenty-two-year-old Romy Myers has landed his first legitimate job—bussing tables at his friend's new coffee shop. The job has brought him some stability after years of abuse have left him feeling damaged and broken. He's working hard on his panic and social anxiety, and those things are often tempered by the big, burly presence of Brendan Walker.
From the moment ex-football player Brendan helped rescue Romy from his ex's abuse, he's wanted to protect him. And he does, from a distance, with joking text messages, a new gym routine to toughen him up and a genuine friendship. So far it's been easy—but Brendan's feelings aren't just friendly anymore…
When an argument spirals out of control, a hot and heavy make-out session causes Romy's friendship with supposedly straight Brendan to reach a new level. My Standing by You Review...
We meet both Romy and Brendan in Maybe This Time. Brendan is Donner's straight best friend and Romy is Ezra's old friend with benefits. After horrific circumstances, Romy is broken and Brendan is gutted.
Brendan is so confused, he's never really been gay but there is something about Romy that calls to him and makes him want to take care of him. Romy's trying to heal and move on but he's scared of his own skin. The only person he truly feels safe with is Brendan which is hard for him to come to terms with since he's basically a stranger.

Both these fragile boys start to need each other and explore more but it's a vulnerable journey for these two. For them to be something more Brendan first has to admit that he is gay to himself and his family while Romy has to trust in himself and find his self value.
"I'm a walking disaster, Bren, I don't know what a real relationship is."
"It ain't a big mystery. It's two people who wanna be together takin' care of each other. You figure out your problems together." He swallowed, mouth suddenly dry. "It's loving someone more than you love yourself."Gah! Poor Romy such a hard journey for him but thankfully he has a new family with Ezra, Donner, Alessandro, Jaime and Brendan that he is finally able to be happy and feel secure in himself and truly fall in love with the most unlikely person. But these two are so perfect and suited for one another that you can't do anything but root for this oddly matched duo.
This series was great with such heart wrenching stories about unexpected love, second chances, and hope.
4 Heartwarming Thumbs up!
